I also hope he gets his memories back and apologizes to Mary Jane. I wonder who Ben will fight in the new series? Will Beyond and the Queen Goblin remain the main villains? Will Lady Octopus, Jason Macendale, Carnage return? Will Ben have friends? Will Kain return? This series has great potential.

I hope it's just a play to escort Janine to safe place and convince Queen that he relly left, so he can come back at her with double strenght before she can land a finger on MJ...

I don't understand why Marvel have such a hardon for EVIL Ben. He can't be bad, he can't be evil. I'd take DEAD good Ben over alive EVIL Ben any day. Why is that only J. M. DeMatteis is capable of writing good Ben stories than people actually WANT to read? I don't know.
I do like some twists and cliffhangers but I don't trust Marvel anymore, I don't believe them. After Clone Conspiracy and BR:SS, whenever Ben acts "wrongly" I got *instert flashback from Vietnam meme*. I may sound silly, but I bet you all feel the same way if your favourite character is being misused.

It saddens me because for me, Ben is the Spider-Man, he's my Peter. So Peter fans, please understand us, the fans of Ben Reilly.

I understand you, I love Ben too. My Spiderman is Peter, but I love and respect Ben, I don't like what Marvel is doing to him. Let's hope Ben regains his memories and continues to be the Sensational Spider-Man. I want the new series to be good.

Cosigning all of you here. I'll probably check it out from sheer obligation as a Spider-Man fan, but if Ben isn't himself again, or at least as close to it as he can get, my heart won't be in it. Yeah, I grew up during the Clone Saga and the 90s animated series, so Peter and Ben are both "my Spider-Man," and while Ben is a great vehicle to explore "the path not taken" for Peter, that path should never be outright supervillain or amoral antihero. That's my one caveat.

Cosigned. Wells said in an early interview that they were trying to do good by Ben. I'm holding out hope that he wasn't lying.

Basically, Beyond erased the "with great power must also come..." moment from his memory. So now he's in Peter "I missed the part where taht's my problem" Parker a**hole mode

Wait when did that happens? And that just messed up. What's the point in doing that.

Last issue of ASM-BEY. It was all of two panels, set up and reveal. Ben then bounced into fighting Queen Goblin and ducked of the fight with Janine, leaving MJ alone with QG. :O

Because Marvel hates Ben. They don't know what to do with him, so they decided to **** him up. I guess they got bored of kicking Peter's ass. Kaine's next, probably.

    OR

Marvel is trying (again) to build up some excitement around Ben by having him as co-protagonist alongside Peter in Beyond and, as all stories need conflict, they've decided that a major conflict is going to be Ben's memories being messed with by Beyond for their own nefarious purposes. As we've already seen the likely macguffin to Ben being fixed, one can safely bet that Ben's going to have his memories regained by the end of the arc.

-Pav, who doubts very much that "Marvel hates" any of its characters...
You were Spider-Man then. You and Peter had agreed on it. But he came back right when you started feeling comfortable.
You know what it means when he comes back

The long and short of it was that after Doctor Octopus gave Ben a bunch of incriminating info on Beyond Corporation's machinations, particularly the ones involving his tenure as Spider-Man that revealed Beyond saw him more as a weak-willed, easily manipulable pawn, Ben lost faith in Beyond. However, he made the mistake of confessing his loss of faith to Dr. Ashley Kafka, who was being monitored by Beyond, and when he was about to confess to her all the dirty dealings he'd discovered Beyond was behind thanks to Doc Ock, he was taken out and dragged to have his recent memories erased so he'd go back to being a good corporate Spider-Tool for Beyond. Unfortunately, the memory-erasing process went haywire and wiped all of his formative memories of being Peter Parker, which left Beyond scientists scrambling to reconstruct his memories with what they thought he needed to know to be Spider-Man . . . except without the memories that shaped him as Peter Parker and Ben Reilly, he was nothing but a shell of himself with no real drive or motivation to be a hero.

Chill and let the story play out beyond last issue’s cliffhanger. It’s one thing when the whole storyline obviously revolves around his character assassination, such as ‘Clone Conspiracy’, but this is one development in a storyline that hasn’t played out yet. Perhaps it’ll turn out poorly, in which case I’ll join you. But at least see where they’re going with it… Ben could be faking to fool Beyond, or it could be real but Kafka restores Ben, etc. Plenty of possibilities.
