On the main DC forum Factor came up with the name Radar Tim Drake aka Radar: expert detective using tech to enhance his senses. I think that both the name and the concept works for Tim.
If Tim is to be inspired by someone in the DC universe, it has to be Ted Kord, since outside of Batman and Robin, I think it was said that he was someone Tim admired.

Rook, as in the bird and the chess piece, still feels like a good choice to me.
Like action, adventure, rogues, and outlaws? Like anti-heroes, femme fatales, mysteries and thrillers?
I wrote a book with them. Outlaw’s Shadow: A Sherwood Noir. Robin Hood’s evil counterpart, Guy of Gisbourne, is the main character. Feel free to give it a look: https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asi...E2PKBNJFH76GQP
Yeah, I thought that too.
But those with memories of a 50-year-old television show are going becoming less as the years roll on.
Plus, Tim taking a name Not inspired by someone else fits him. In several ways, Tim was the Reverse Robin. Batman did not rescue him; Tim rescued Batman. Tim is more a man-of-thought while Richard and Jason were men-of-action.
Tim calling himself The Drake was a false start to put it kindly, but it fits that the reverse Robin would find inspiration within himself and not another.
I like it too.
Someone should post soon stating Rook cannot be used because some other character somewhere already had that name.

My other idea for Tim other than Radar is Sonar, but then the GL villain would need to become something else.
Both would lean into Tim’s detective abilities and would have him use tech to augment his senses and help solving crimes. I think that should be his niche.
Of course Bruce will always be seen as the greatest detective, but he has so much else to take care of that I think the franchise could use someone more “specialised”. I can see Tim becoming a bigger player in the DCU with this new role too.
Okay I'm reading Knightfall, and as you know Tim has a fairly major role in the story especially since his father's kidnapping is what spurned Bruce and Alfred to go on that international adventure to rescue him.
Is Tim's dad Jack still alive or is he dead?
