The last team book with Tim sold poorly even with top writer, no wonder they are hesitating.

It was said writers pacing that killed that book. Also, he hasn't exactly lit it up since coming to DC on any book he's been on.

Part of the issue is he's writing characters he doesn't have a connection to.

Really wish someone would do something with Tim other than urban legends. Put him in YJ more in Dicks area, show off a story with him on a show. He's more the smart Peter Parker type.

There is that too and it wasn't going to the right age groups or being promoted well.

The problem is that Dick himself is kind of the Peter Parker type, and even has the banter, athletic abilities and redhead girlfriend. Tim doesn't bring something unique or fresh here. That's one of the reasons it's much easier to adapt Jason or Damian.

Lol, what does having a red head as a girlfriend really amount to? Have to disagree, Dick doesn't give off Peter Parker vibes to me, even if they share some similarities

And come on, Barbara Gordon and Mary Jane Watson are very different characters.

Tim is more of a Peter Parker type than Dick, beyond Dick being jokey.

Tim is fine but with so many Robins, it's hard to differentiate him when the the biggest thing that separated him (his regular family life) got stupidly deleted. The only other thing is being a good detective and lets be honest, being the best detective among a bunch of amazing detectives means little. Every other Robin (Dick, Jason, Damian) has a different 'gimmick' that can be easily used

What DC needs to do is try and bring that regular kid stuff back since that was always the meat of what made Tim popular and is something that no other Robin has going for them

Okay, let's say Marvel creates a brand new Bucky and his "gimmick" is that he has a personal life. Would that make you read him?

It's not a gimmick, it's just an aspect.

Dick is way more confident than Peter Parker is. He's also naturally gifted with his skills, peter got all of the physical skills from the spider bite. And Dick has dated more than just Babs, but other than red headed girlfriend, they don't share much in common. If anything Peter is more like Blue Beetle or Jimmy Olsen than Dick Grayson. Tim has a lot to offer, the issue is how to put it to good use because Comics are a visual medium, making certain skills less visually interesting.

See above, Dick is way more sure of himself and certainly is not the Aww Shucks type. I'd also like to point out that while Dick is smart Peter is closer to Tim in that area than Dick.

100% agreed. Part of the reason people kept coming back to read comics was to see what happened next. Comics, like pulps and Soap Operas keep the readers involved by having the civilian and personal life having the main drama.

Oh no there are high stakes robberies happening in Gotham, but Bruce told his girlfriend he was going to meet her at the gala tonight. Will she forgive him for missing it to fight crime?

Tim's would be more. Has a paper deadline, teacher won't give him an extension, and he has to help Bruce with a case. Does he **** up his grade-points to save Gotham, or does he blow off Bruce, and cause a rift between them. Etc.

Tim is closer to Peter in the "I have a family and friends to balance life" than say Dick who can easily multitask, because he's Bruce's kid. Same with Damian and Jason, they don't have a second life that they have to balance with this work. So there is that factor that plays with teens and college age students. Especially if you tie the idea of who you are with what people see online of you.

You're right it's not a gimmick, but if the story is good and he has something interesting, I want to know how that personal life affects him.

Tim's big thing was computers and Tech along with Babs. Then they gave parts of that to other Bat family members, so now Tim doesn't have his Gimmick. And his personality is not the "vlogger/influencer/content creator" type so that's out. Maybe if they focus on his skills as a hacker and a tech person, you wouldn't have this issue.

We don't know anything about Ryand'r, however if we want to point to someone that could be interesting. Hal's nephew Hal "Airwave" as he is gay or bi himself, and earlier Hal suggested he get mentored by one of the Batfamily members. Could be an interesting thing to have Tim mentor someone the way that Dick helped him.
