Frankly, it doesn't really matter to HOW they explained it. Giving her a full adamantium skeleton is still just another example of Duggan trying to make her more like Logan.

And shouldn't Proteus have been able to "fix" his goof up afterwards in the first place? He's a pretty much unlimited when it comes to manipulating reality and transmuting matter. He should be able to just snap his fingers and remove the extra adamantium.

It doesn't work that way, and it doesn't matter anyway considering the status quo.

I imagine future writers will get rid of her full adamantium skeleton. As stated earlier it was something unique to her and it's not as if having a full adamantium skeleton opens up many new stories or make her easier to write.

I mean the entire nature of it leads itself to that. It has been acknowledged as "ops the Five made a mistake" and that's that.
Because at the end of the day none of us can actually tell if she has an adamantium skeleton or not because it's not a thing you can see. So unless the writer specifically brings it up you won't know about it.
