I enjoy others takes on runs I like, so no apology necessary.

While I enjoyed Winick's Outsiders, I did not care for the whole Shift/Metamorpho arc. In fact, it was JLE/I that made me a fan of the character; I even liked the whole Crimson Fox romance, and his later transformation (a lot folks didn't).

    It's definitely an...interesting take on Rex's design.

There aren't any good images online, and my copy is rolled up in storage somewhere, but I've always loved this JLI poster by the great Dan Jurgens:

WOW, I had this poster but had forgotten about it. Thanks for the nice memories.

Although I loved the Giffen years of JLI, I remember being excited that some of the big guns were coming back. However, I wasn't that impressed with the writing of those years that followed. But the art was beautiful.

All in all, that is a great Justice League line-up. I particularly wish they had explored Dr. Light with her more agressive (not to say "witchy") personality. Jones neutering her with the whole artificial sweetners bullshit (which he also tried to pass on to Kara), making her almost a gueixa, was, IMHO, a waste of a potentially so great and different character.

    Peace

Yeah, the diet soda arc was... odd. Lol!

Dr. Light toughened up though by the end; she was technically the leader - albeit for a short time - during the "Judgement Day" crossover and subsequent issues.

Winnick decided that this story was all a lie that Ice told herself to forget that she was a sort of mutant from a Gypsy crime family, whose father hid her from her grandfather, which was the family's crime lord. In trying to escape from her grandfather, Tora lost control of her powers and killed her whole family. So, Winnick effectively transformed on of the League's most hopeful and innocent characters into Killer Frost.
I love Generation Lost, but I've always hated Winnick's work. I've always found him to be what I call a "shock value writer", a writer who doesn't care if what he is writing makes sense or not, is faithful to the character or not, as long as he gets to shock his audience. I think he stuck a lot with what Giffen plotted for JLGL, which explains my fondness for the series, other than LOVING the characters, of course, but I'm sure that retcon is all Winnick.

    Peace
    That's a horrible retcon of Ice's story.

And then....they foisted that gem off on poor Power Girl, the DCU's whipping girl. Don't know why they dislike her so much; she was just created to be a more interesting version of Supergirl, and to add some youth to the JSA.

Jones? Was that the guy everyone wishes they could forget?

Yeah, I was never much of a fan of his writing, but he got kind of radioactive after a scandal involving child pornography. I find it sad that by association, lots of projects he was even tangentially involved with got dragged into the same radioactive pit. JL Breakdowns comes to mind.

    Peace

So he was that guy. Wow. DC and WB doesn't do much vetting of employees, does it?

It sort of fits with Power Girl's luck that she had a grand total of one animated appearance and no live action ones-----and the only actress to play her outside of video games will be available for more voice work in about five to ten years, with time off for good behavior. That character can't catch a break. The JLI were the guys you liked, even if DC itself doesn't seem to. And that's the sort of thing those characters have to endure.

Two of my favorite things together: JLI and Cluedo.
