It's absolutely important. LBGTQ+ children are disturbingly under a cultural assault in this country, so to have a queer character like the kid-version of Jon Kent has enormous potential to be impactful. Frankly, I think keeping Jon a kid in the comics and making him queer would have been a way more impactful symbol than aging him up and doing it. Being queer is about more than who you're currently dating, and I feel that's a texture that gets pretty lost in a lot of media, new Superman comic included.

Because she's still the youngest Wonder Girl, there isn't one for Damian's generation in the comics. Yara turned out to be 21 years old, but Cassie apparently is a couple of years younger. They screwed up Yara's backstory, probably didn't want to de-age her too much from her Future State self. And unfortunately Cassie totally no-showed Future State so there's no reference there to use for comparison.

    For Jon and Damian, specifically?

I liked the blue and black one. Supersons looks like a fun film.

Maybe his costume colours should be changed to something like that? It would help make him more of his own person, instead of copying his Dad's look. Especially once Clark's back on Earth. It would also differentiate him from Kara. Now that she's wearing pants and short hair, she looks enough like Jon that someone mis-coloured her as him in Dark Crisis: Young Justice #1!

Has there been any confirmation they've explicitly identified the kid-version of Jon as queer in this movie?

Going by the looks of it, not sure if that kind of thing will even come up.
