Rogue's short lived stint as Ms. Marvel. Safe to say she wasn't a fan...

Wow, it's been awhile since I've posted here. I hope y'all can't blame me, it's been a rough couple of months content-drought wise.
I did see the recent Rogue & Gambit mini-series news, which is cool, but still leaves me with that "ok, but where is the character heading actually?" feeling.
I feel like I'm turning into a Krakoa era doomer, since I'm associating it with a lack of Rogue focus at this point. Down with the island!
Some round-up news.
Keke Palmer is apparently embracing the Rogue fan-casting which is interesting.

Lenore Zann will be attending a X-Men focused convention called The Uncanny Experience with it's own mansion and immersive cosplay.

Rogue for X-Treme X-Men 01. Can't wait to see her back! Hopefully she won't power swap with anyone. But it doesn't look like she has her Ms. Marvel abilities... Which is strange since I thought they were grafted onto her by Mags at the end of Uncanny 269. So shouldn't they be as part of her as the absortion abilities?

The abilities Rogue took from Carol were "lost" in X-treme X-Men #17-18 for some unexplained reason, and never returned. In fact, Rogue temporally lost all her powers after that. So the mini may take place when she and Remy were living together in California and she was working as a motorcycle mechanic. (That's when Rogue got the arm tattoo.) Between the time when X-treme X-Men ended and she rejoined the regular X-Men in Chuck Austin's X-Men #157, her absorbing power returned but not what she took from Carol.

That looks great! I might prefer the interior art over the cover art in this case lol.
Rogue didn't really forfeit the Ms. Marvel power set until the start of Chuck Austen's run in Adjectiveless. I wouldn't be surprised if Claremont planned to reactivate it, along with control over her original power.
The truth is, I'd much rather we got a revisit of Rogue's stint as an Avenger, than yet another book with Rogue as Gambit's new bride. -_-

Maybe I'm being paranoid, but marriage was the only way they could keep Gambit as a regular in the books and inspire some 90's atmosphere into the ongoing status quo. Gone are the days when comic book fanboys used to chase after books with scoundrels taking names and getting the chicks. We may complain as Rogue fans, but Gambit fans have it even worse, IMO.
Their not using Gambit, Rogue, Psylocke, Angel, Iceman, Beast, Jubilee and so many fan favourites in major events, then bailing themselves out by launching those "limited series" is a terrible sight.
