    Rereading my Zdarsky trades

One of my favorite moments in the series is when Matt is having dinner with the Libris family, they try to justify their criminal activities. They spout the same bullshit justifications, they are merely getting by, they are helping the community and common man, the system doesn't help so its only right they find success outside of it, etc.

But the guy they are talking too, who they assume works under rich folks and is a snob who could never understand them cause he's a lawyer is Matt Murdock. Matt who grew up poor Irish trash in a shitty small apartment, by a single father who could only make money taking dives in boxing fights who was then later on murdered in a mob hit for refusing that dive.

All that delusions of grandeur and Matt knows firsthand personally how bullshit it all is. The system may not be good but a bunch of shitty violent mobsters ain't any better and he won't stand for their horse shit.

Anyone had a chance to look at The new issue yet? I thought it was good. Some Really Nice moments and a fair bit of setup for coming issues.

So I have read the first issue.

    spoilers:
Honestly these story seems to be turning out similar to "season 2" so there is a good chance we will see Punisher in the cross hairs sooner than expected

My initial thoughts are though I did like this issue but I didn’t quite enjoy it as much as I thought I would due to all the stuff with the dude in the trench coat. Whatever’s he was up to is not too clear. It seems he was influencing events but to what end exactly? I can’t imagine he really is what he proclaimed to be at the end but Matt seems to believe him? I guess time will tell what’s really happening of course. I liked the back up a lot, too. Good issue and a gorgeous one at that for both stories.

    spoilers:
And did Butch always know Matt was DD or did that just happen here? If so I’m surprised Matt revealed that to him without concern.
    end of spoilers

It had been a long time since I regularly read a Daredevil title. Post Devil's Reign, I thought I'd peruse the new number one issue of the series. Wow, it felt good. I agree with some other posters, there was confusion for me on who certain characters were and Matt's relationship to this or that person. Also, there seems to be some scenes set in a future time which confused me a bit.

However, I liked the feeling here. The title evoked those feelings of Marvel's street level corner of the universe. It wasn't necessarily Netflix-y, but more "Law and Order." The story edged on that TV14 rating. Plus I like the set up for the future story. Part of me feels that Iron Fist should be involved with that. Heck, maybe he still will be.

I'm intrigued. Looking forward to the next issue.

I strongly doubt it. At the very least I hope not.

I hope so. Seeing how much Zdarsky has been keen on shock value lately(Batman #125 and now this). I wouldn't bet on it
