Based on Anthony's writer commentary podcast posts thus far, the Nate we are seeing IS the Nate we all know and love from stories passed.

But we also know that time is a weird soup, and very fluid and sometimes too hot and sometimes too cold and basically a mess. So time (haha) will tell.

I'll be sure to update folks on any additional insights or revelations he may offer when he does a commentary on the final issue.

I'll be listening to his commentary on the Tommy/David episode this afternoon after work.

    spoilers:
He got a visit from his future evil self, but refused to follow in his footsteps, vowing to become a better person instead. He even used a part of Iron Lad's armor to fight his AU version, and he seemed pretty comfortable doing so.
    end of spoilers

As someone who's been saying the team should get a new Iron Person, I would definitely support this. I think it would be a cool way to follow up this story, and it would be very interesting to have a Young Avenger who's a legacy for Doctor Doom of all people. Lots of potential for conflict and drama!
I was hoping for a true arch nemesis for the YA team, but if he were to join I'd be fine with it. They have a young Kang and a Kid Loki, so what's a Jr. Doom eh? Still waiting for them to expand their rogues gallery and for them to become a team again. Have a adventure fighting villains and stuff.

Kristoff's addition/inclusion with the Young Avengers mythos is a stroke of genius.

He's a legacy. His allegiances are fraught. His relationships are complicated. He's literally "of two minds" thanks to the Doombot's savage tamperings. He's a VERY compelling character with so much connective tissue to this team.

    Ties to Doom.
    Ties to the Fantastic Four.
    Ties to Cassie.
    Ties to Nathaniel.
Ties to the scientific and mystic.

    GREAT addition.

After reading this tweet, I think I understand what Anthony was trying to do there. It seems like his intention was indeed to say that Nate was our Nate, spoilers:
but his life up until that point was erased because present Kristoff changed the future. So that Nate never even existed, and our Nate's life was reset to some other point in time before any of this happened, when he will probably have a different future.
end of spoilers I guess this means our Nate is still out there somewhere, but he won't remember any of this.

YES, I do like the idea of Young Avengers reaching every corner of the Marvel Universe. I support the Young Avengers global domination agenda.

    BIG same. HUGE same.
Especially if Anthony and his big queer ideas are at the forefront. I'm especially intrigued by his perspective on the Demiurge in relation to queer identity.

And y'all, I listened to a few minutes of the Tommy/David commentary and Anthony is giving me heart-ache with the parallels between the Tommy/MasterP and Anthony's personal life with his parent. So emotional.

I like the artwork! The Young Avengers assembled. And Teddy with those hairy underarms! He's a man's man! This makes me crave a full YA team up even more!

Love it but I'm so annoyed/confused that Eli is getting screwed over in all of this.

It's been said already that editorial didn't allow Anthony to use Eli in the book. Not much anyone can do about that, unfortunately.

It does suck about Eli. It makes me curious if they will use him in a MCU Young Avengers?

Also, a little off topic but I was thinking, if they were to bring back the Young Masters do you think Fifi from the Hawkeye books could join the group, as a arch nemesis/rival to Kate Bishop? She does use arrows too inspired to become better then Kate.

    Omg hahaha

    https://www.cbr.com/young-avengers-i...c-good-marvel/

THE HEADING for this article had me GASP. I legit thought they were saying "Don't miss it" as in, "Now that its over, its nothing special so don't miss it, aka don't look back on it fondly"
I was like "WHO THE [EXPLETIVE] WROTE THIS TRASH"

But its actually praising it. hahaha

I have no idea. I want to say yes because he was literally onscreen just last year, but then again, he was also in the comics recently and then suddenly he's not anymore and writers can't use him, so who knows? I just hope he doesn't get excluded from the MCU too, because I fear that might be the final nail on his coffin. Like it or not, the MCU has become the golden standard for Marvel characters; if they can make it there, they can make it anywhere. If a character who is having a hard time even appearing in the comics is excluded from the one place that could still turn him into a relevant character, then I fear the comics might as well throw the towel and not even attempt to bring him back at all. :\

I think Executioner was already sort of portrayed as Kate's nemesis within the Young Masters, but who knows if anyone even remembers that connection. In any case, sure, why not? The more, the merrier.

I feel like a Young Avengers book would sell really well right now. It's weird that there isn't one.
