Not for long either. Even the variant covers were removed from the book as the run progressed. 😒

Yeah because they were ready to kill the rest of the fun overall and the book period. And what’s makes it even more insulting is that none of that was even worth it. Soule could’ve finished his story as an “elseworld” or hell, just cancelled it when Soule was done with 12 because obviously the other creative team had no actual story to tell but to deconstruct the couple and DC dug themselves into even more of continuity a mess now.

The positive impact and rep of SMWW is endless for sure

This is sad. But then again…DC/WB did put all their eggs in one basket. So….

They don't try this type of cross-promotion anymore for non-BM characters.

Because they are acting obligated staying within a status quo that doesn’t strike much interest so why bother? They set themselves up for these limitations and folks just gave up

Joint protégé is likely as she was originally meant to be reintroduced in the SM/WW book under Soule.

This would’ve been great. Soule was doing so good combining their worlds together. Donna would’ve had a creative take.

I recall the first cover for the Tomasi/Mahnke run was changed from romantic to SM/WW just standing there. Something was going on BTS. Doubt the change of direction was all on the writer since the beginning.

Like pre-FP Supergirl being trained by Diana and the Amazons. I guess when double-legacies characters will be a thing (and I'm sure they will sooner or later), something similar could be explored again.

Not only the cover change but the stupid change of their first meeting. Tomasi’s excuse of “no conflict no story” was so weak. Contrived conflict and purposely writing them OOC is no story.
So like I said, they should’ve just cancelled the book when Soule left because that was just awful ruining their dynamic and now we see though the BTS plan and none of that was worth it with DC in the state it’s in now. The pettiness of not only removing their relationship but their friendship as well went way too far just to forcibly regress back to a directionless status quo that made them have to reboot in the first place.

This will forever be sad and embarrassing. Especially when “The Batman” producer basically said they didn’t and don’t want a shared universe dealing with other characters outside the the bat verse and it looks like yet again Batman is going to get another step up. Either way Batman wins. But Superman doesn’t have a proper sequel and the actor is still in limbo. Wonder Woman got derailed by her own sequel.

Like you have the most iconic superhero characters and struggling to make a cohesive shared movie universe with them and fumbling with them individually that’s not Batman.

Like pre-FP Supergirl being trained by Diana and the Amazons. I guess when double-legacies characters will be a thing (and I'm sure they will sooner or later), something similar could be explored again.

This should be explored especially between Clark and Diana being mentors.
