Abrupt changes plagued SM and WW books even before. They are both "messily" handled for decades now. Their relationship was caught into that.

Ironic. They both are a mess no matter what because DC keeps trying to hold on to obvious tired concepts and status quos with the two.
At least new52 still gave room to grow. They were actually establishing a relationship, sure flawed, but it brought so much more potential to actually adding something to both characters, creating something new, combing their myths. It also wasn’t built on being spiteful like rebirth was. It seemed when initial rebirth teams were done throwing petty jabs, and trying to force their preferences, they didn’t have anything else to tell. That’s when things seemed to fall even more apart.

The SM franchise isn't about Clark anymore since Rebirth... "detrimental" pfft.

Yeah…Clark is being forced to be seen as a boring old aging outdated man that’s gonna die for the umpteenth time.
Diana died, came back, no one really cared and she doesn’t even have a place in her own world anymore.

But, even without WW '84 not being that great, the character still need to be re-established in present day.

It’s a shame still to have to re-establish period because they wanted her to be thousands of years old and in man’s world for 100 years without actually doing much of anything. No building of supporting cast because they were 100 years old and now dead. ‘84 didn’t establish anyone new as it should’ve. All those years are blank and they won’t fill them in either because there’s nothing to fill them with without seeming contrived.

Right now, DC thinks Batman is both the Father and Mother of superheroes, lol.

Superman and Wonder Woman are always the couple folks use to promote superhero couples merch/ themes. If it was not right and having two franchises combine bad, why is that DC supposedly has classic couples like Green Arrow/Blaxk Canary, BatCat, AquaMera, The Hawks, yet they can’t be marketed outside of comics like Superman and Wonder Woman?

Captions like these break me every time. Superman and Wonder Woman is so deeply rooted with so many real life couples. It’s a shame DC is hellbent on ignoring or screwing it over.

Also, Superman and Wonder Woman are meant to standout. Yet, Superman still struggles with this lame have to be normal boring middle aged human to be relatable instead of embracing what makes him unique. The irony is that people still see Superman as unrelated even trying to force the human thing and it just makes him more boring.

SM/WW was too ahead as a concept for DC and 2 "messy" franchises. As I said in another post, combing characters' myths is likely the next big thing. But Marvel will go there first, if it's not already there.
