RIP George Perez who drew one of Natasha's most iconic panels.

Scarlett also approves of it:

Tolstoy will live forever. Some people do. But that's not enough. It's not the length of a life that matters, just the depth of it. The chances we take. The paths we choose. How we go on when our hearts break. Hearts always break and so we bend with our hearts. And we sway. But in the end what matters is that we loved... and lived.
Those issues in Marvel Fanfare were for a proposed ongoing, but for some reason it never got off the ground. When Marvel Fanfare debuted, those stories finally found a home. George commented that his style had changed since he worked on those issues with Natasha looking much more zaftig on the interiors while appearing much trimmer on the cover to Marvel Fanfare #10. Those are some of my favorite Black Widow stories.
My favorite Black Widow artists in order are:
1. John Romita, Sr. (loved the ASM issue where Natasha debuted the skinsuit)
2. George Perez
3. Sal Buscema/Steve Leiloha (amazing work in Marvel Team-Up)
4. Gene Colan
5. John Buscema
6. John Byrne (from Champions)
7. Frank Miller (I didn't mind his zip-a-tone suit, but most artists just drew it as solid grey -- yuck!).
With the news about Edge of Spider-Verse, I wonder if that contributed to Black Widow's cancellation? Either Kelly Thompson would've been forced to remove Anya Corazon, or they'd have had to timeskip past the event. She's changing back to Arana.

Nice list but you don't seem to like newer artists much?
I couldn't decide how to rank them so I put my favs in chronological order:
John Romita, sr
Gene Colan
George Perez
Joe Chiodo (the only one who made the grey suit work for me)
Daniel Acuna
Butch Guice
Elene Casagrande/Rafael De Latorre
Also have to mention Adam Hughes for an alltime great run of cover art.

I love Acuna as an artist, and probably should have included him. The artists on her newest series weren't bad at all -- just not among my favorites.
As good an artist as Adam Hughes is, I wasnt' that impressed with his BW covers. They weren't bad, but I don't think they were up to his usual standards.
RIP George Perez.
What was the name of that iconic hairstyle he gave Natasha?
Not exactly a bouffant, but...
"Face Front... Nuff Said?"
Avengers #60, the AXE tie-in, is completely unrelated to the previous 59 issues and stars Natasha and Clint.

Like a Red Dragon, The Phoenix shall Soar in 2024!
They both look mind controlled to me.
