Kate's book was always intended as a mini. And good point, Spider-Woman appears to be cancelled too, and she's both a spider and a spy. Perfect fit!

Knowing Marvel it would go a bit differently though. KT would pitch it like that, and Marvel would agree but insist on one minor change: Nat's death should be permanent and the book would get relaunched with Yelena, for MCU synergy. And all of sudden my little fantasy sounds realistic
Tolstoy will live forever. Some people do. But that's not enough. It's not the length of a life that matters, just the depth of it. The chances we take. The paths we choose. How we go on when our hearts break. Hearts always break and so we bend with our hearts. And we sway. But in the end what matters is that we loved... and lived.

Now it's getting really weird. Just skipped through a podcast with Kelly Thompson from today and when talking about what she'll be doing this year she is saying "I'm still doing BW and CM and there are no plans for that to stop right now so that'll be a big part of my year."

Not getting my hopes up though, guess most likely is that Marvel has cancelled the book but didn't inform KT yet, smh.

Well I can do with some hope even if it just ads to the confusion.

A relaunch is an easy Trade wait decision for me then. Especially considering it won't go more than 3 trades worth given BW series track record. I've already dropped a few other titles this year. TMNT at #125 was the biggie.

The one and only upside to the whole Amazon/comixology mess, especially for those of us whose local Amazon stores dont even offer basic stuff like series subscriptions, is that the new issue of black widow dropped midnight my time rather than sometime tomorrow while I'm at work and well... damn.

    Hold on to your butts.

Of course she'll get better somehow but I don't think this is supposed to be an illusion or something.

Yeah, I thought that as well, especially when I saw they were “relaunching” X-Men Legends after 12 issues!
Same pattern....no mention of a cancellation, but two months of no books, then BAMMO!....a new #1!

After fighting with the stupid new comixology, I read Black Widow #14

    spoilers:
I would like to unsee that last page please. I guess it's a testament to Elena Casagrande's art that I'm left feeling so distressed and unsettled, but just... do not like.

This was on course to become my favorite issue of the whole run and then the last page ruined it. Did KT let M. Night Shyamalan guest write this?

The whole issue had me on the edge of my seat until then, really good. And the art just continues to be outstanding.

I'm just so very curious how that will be resolved.
    spoilers:
I can not see them putting an artificial arm on her, that's Bucky's deal. Fellow potentially dead (not really) Avenger Clint lost a hand or so back in Avengers no surrender or its similarly forgettable sequel or prequel until it was revealed that it was #justadreamlol™ which I do not see Thompson pulling on us either.
Time travel? Unlikely. Superhuman captive with crazy healing powers? Potentially.
    end of spoilers

I genuinely do like how scary The Living Blade is in any case. He's not needlessly evil, doesn't look monstrous at all, isn't overly aggressive, he just gets stuff done through sheer competency all the while not falling in the punisher-esque edgelord trap despite wielding a Katana like a fedora wearing neckbeards wet dream.

    That's no easy feat.

    spoilers:
I felt pretty much the same. The issue was really suspenseful, the buildup so good, then it was like I fell into an Ultimates style shock value ending. It made me feel sick, and maybe that's what they were going for but I'm just not pleased.

I hope they reverse it, I really don't see a benefit to adding Natasha to the bionic arm collection. I know she has enhancements, but I feel like that would take something away from her character. And I agree the villain is interesting and scary but that ending just left such a sour taste in my mouth I struggle to focus on anything else at the moment

I like your idea with the superpowered healer, that sounds like a good way to solve it. I just hope she doesn't get a metal arm, that would be so odd.

I'd say it's the best written issue of the run so far which includes the villain, it gave me a bad gut feeling throughout the story, somehow it seemed inevitable that something bad would happen.
