Because they don't have actual wasp powers. They just use Pym Particles and biological modification to change size and sprout wasp-like wings for flight while shrunk. That said, I'm of the opinion that it would have been interesting to see the Sisterhood of the Wasp try to recruit them, before or after being coopted by Shathra, especially since it would put them in the position of saving Spider-Man despite the whole "wasps and spiders don't get along" bit.
The spider is always on the hunt.
And would be interesting to see, as Nadia hates the original Spider-Man (she doesn't know he's Peter, but blames him for the Avengers losing their HQ, which was the then-Parker Industries-owned Baxter Building, in Secret Empire).

According to Ziglar at the Marvel Voices panel at Comic-Con, Miles will be getting "new Black mentors to look up to and learn from". So it seems like it won't just be Misty. I don't know how I feel about that. Miles has never really had one in his main comics continuity and after the all the experience he's had as a hero, I feel like it's too late to try to act like he needs anyone to guide him (unless there's something very specific that he needs to learn). Heck, earlier this year Miles himself has been shown giving guidance to two newer heroes (Darkhawk and Amulet).
I also don't want there to be a lot of situations where Miles needs to team-up with all these other heroes to fight his opponents. One 'problem' with Ahmed's run was that, for a majority of of his fights, Miles had to team-up with other people to in order to win or get out of certain situations. It feels like it was rare for Miles to be allowed to handle things on his own.
