Amazing character. We did a comic dub film in honor of him on our channel.

Agreed, though I think the issue is more Marvel wanting to have its cake and eat it, too, proverbially speaking, as while Miles and Peter can both call themselves Spider-Man and Miles can potentially fill certain niches that are no longer suitable for Peter at this point, Marvel still views and markets Peter as essentially "Spider-Man Prime," which makes Miles a more secondary character in comparison, and he gets treated as such by Marvel.

They should let Peter grow up and use Miles as the teen Spidey. Miles can have the sort of storylines Peter had in the 60s (school, young love, friendships, rivalries). Peter should be struggling with a work/life/heroics balance (not being unemployed or back in college like he's been lately) and settling down with MJ. Adaptations need to stop de-aging Peter to Miles's age.

I'd concur with that as well, although most of those adaptations that have done that are the more "kid-focused" adaptations, whereas Insomniac Games' Spider-Man and the Spider-Verse animated films keep him as an adult in comparison to Miles.

I'm referring to the TV cartoons mainly, yeah. The last three have had Miles and Peter as peers. Miles had to use a different codename as a result (Kid Arachnid in Ultimate, nothing at all for most of the next show until Spy-D came up in one episode, and Spin in Amazing Friends). If there was an age gap like there should be, then Miles could just be referred to as the second Spider-Man like in the comics (Champions once mentioned he's known abroad as Second Spider, and his solo book came up with Brooklyn Spider-Man). The Spider-Verse movie gets it right - and used Spider-Man Noir too, who of course is also actually just called Spider-Man.

Uh-huh, and it seems it'll keep getting it right in the two upcoming sequel films. That said, it does amuse me to no end that Sony, once raked over the coals for Amazing Spider-Man 2's underperformance (and its anti-hero/villain spinoff film series), has at least rebounded in animated film and video games with arguably superior adaptations of Spider-Man compared to what Marvel/Disney have been putting out in the same period.

The former is inevitable because he's a legacy character. The latter is just something that will come in time.

Fair enough. We've waited 10 or so years already. The real problem, I think, is that on the creative and editorial/executive end, Marvel has to get people to meaningfully invest in Miles as a character (and a Spider-Man).

    Christopher Allen variant:

    Brian Stelfreeze variant:

I like the design of his shoes in the Allen variant.

Is that supposed to be Ganke next to Judge's face?

Yeah, definitely. Left side is Miles, Shift, Judge and Ganke, right side is Rio and Jeff, Starling and Billie.

Marvel can also take steps to speed up the process, but so far they haven't taken that many.

MCU's Spider-Man is also the only adaptation to appropriate from Miles and give to Peter. Which, if we think about, makes the pre-NWH version the least inclusive Spider-Man. Even Sony and Quesada over at Marvel Animation didn't do that.

It's possible that had ITSV and the Insomniac games not happened or have been as successful, and if MCU Spider-Man was just a little less controversial, Miles would have fallen into obscurity with general audiences.

That's true. Ned Leeds is in name only, and is really an adaptation of Ganke Lee.
