I've understood this situation began when Dick and Tim were the only "Robins" (Jason was death). Dick was considered the athetic one, while Tim was the smart/tech one.

Yeah nuance is a hard thing for people to get.

Its like the TMNT where everyone is treated in strict roles but it disregards or misinterprets any other complexities for the characters.

Like with Jason people don't realize that what makes him notable isn't that he's angry, its that he's capable of doing everything Batman and the other Robins are capable of he just lacks any restraints. Its far more complex than just him being rage-filled.

I'm reminded the last several batch of animated movies did not help Dick's image, he largely spent most of them jobbing especially to prop up Damian.

Such as Batman vs Robin, Damian and Batman were taking down hordes of Talons while poor Dick got ganged up and got his arms broken

Pretty much my problem with those movies.

I don't dislike Damian, but I hate the favoritism he gets at the expense of other Robins.

And those movies were borderline Damian shilling from taking Tim's place in the Hush movie to his awful romance with Raven, due to the immense amounts of favoritism he got from the staff.
