I never read the manga, but I did love the movies and have craved Damian as Vampire Hunter D ever since...his second Halloween Special when he and Dick were hunting Vampires. Then the Nu52 "I, Vampire" where Damian was hunting vampires. And "Infinite Crisis: Fight for the Multiverse" where Damian is a vampire, hunting vampires.

....I think there's a pattern here.

We rarely talk about Vampire Damian in IC: Fight for the Multiverse, a series I truly enjoyed.

I've not read the 2nd Halloween Special where Damian and Dick are hunting Vampires. I've never even heard about that story. DC's not very good at advertising their books. That or dC puts out so many titles each month, some slip by unnoticed.

I see it weird too.. But I saw someone in twitter believing that one is talia and screenshat believing that Damian, Respawn and Beast Boy are between the public.

Perhaps Restingvoice is right.. It fits more a group of villains be here as public in this than be both groups(heroes and villains) like this..

If Respawn is really the character here then the Shadow War will be unable to kill him. Something that I find surprising.

I see people getting their hopes up for Damian's involvement in the Pride Month book, but I'm not too sure. I'm leaning more on him just being a part of whatever story they're about to tell for Connor. Wouldn't mind being wrong, but I think folks might not wanna count their Robins before they hatch XD

From what I've heard the writer is asexual, and apparently Connor has a long history of being interpreted as asexual, but so does Damian. With the two of them now being friends, it's not too out of the realm of possibility for both of them to be revealed and confirmed as ace, further adding to the queer representation of the DC universe other than homosexuality and bisexuality.
