Now I am not the BIGGEST Williamson fan. I loved what he did with Robin, Deathstroke Inc is not bad, I love the Flash.

It is just interesting how if a character like Green Arrow is loved by Williamson and so many then you would think we would have a monthly book.
How many books can the guy write in a month?

Besides, his Batman (or "temporary fill-in" Batman) was extremely disappointing to some of us, and Williamson made it sound like he was a fan of Batman as well.

Oh I agree. He is already writing like everything in DC. I am just surprised GA is not one of them.

Wasn’t there some talk around two years ago that he was going to do a GA/BC book?

Yeah, the last couple of runs have pretty much been the GA family!
But I think this was supposed to be a shared title, Luke they had leading up to their wedding 10-12 (?) years ago.

Fans can be bad writing fits for characters they very much love, just like some artists love westerns but can't draw a horse.

I get the feeling Williamson is sincere in his love for the DCU. Sometimes he sings (he made me like a Damian solo, the madman) and others he doesn't, but from his writing I can tell the affection is there. He rarely goes out of his way to absolutely dunk on a character in a meaningless way and I don't see any of his characters being too far from standard characterization, though I didn't read his Flash so perhaps I'm missing some egregious examples.

So far his worst sin as a writer that I've seen is that sometimes his work can be very by-the-numbers. There are certainly worse offenses and offenders.

Stretching talent thin is usually never a good sign, though.

He's hit or miss for me but I've yet to see him be awful. Compare to Tom King who creates some books I adore and some I abhore.

Williamson doesn't hit the same extremes, but because of that I don't worry when he sets sights on a character I love.

I would not turn away if Williamson took over a Green Arrow book. Give him a run then see where the book goes from there.
