Wally West: The Flash Appreciation 2022

Man Jeremy Adams is quickly becoming my favorite Flash writer since Mark Waid. His run has been nothing short of excellent and most of all, FUN! He gets Wally. I can't wait to see what he does with the Flash family.

There's something about Wally that brings the best of writers when he's the main Flash. He's been blessed with such amazing writers and that allowed him to become the beloved character he is today. Hoping Adams stays for a really long time in this. He has everything to make a classic run.

I never bought into the silver costume as much as other people have but I know it has its fans.

I feel like he had some mileage as Kid Flash left in him, but I guess if Wally is going to continue as The Flash for a while, he should have a Kid Flash that's closer to him.

Man I love this book. Adam’s hits another out of the park. Wally. The kids. Jesse. Max. And Adam’s Barry Allen in this issue and the first arc are the best the character has been written since his return. Wonderful book.

Iris Jr, Red Arrow and Jai - in an incredibly generic costume - are obvious on the left; as is Wally on the right, but who are the two older guys? I thought the middle guy was Jay, but is he the really old guy, and Barry with the Reed Richards hair? And Wallace's dad isn't there?

I just posted about this in the Wallace thread, but while the silver costume could use a couple of tweaks - lose the red eyes, simplify the gloves - it's something that's *HIS*, not a hand-me-down, which is the main thing. (Also, Kid Flash is, and always has been, the worst DC sidekick name.)

I wouldn't be wild about Irey going by Kid Flash, but at least her version of the costume is a bit different, and she's young enough to justify hand-me-downness.

I like to think of it less as a hand-me-down and more carrying on the legacy.

Is Kid Flash a goofy name? Yeah...but I feel like it's kind of just come to be accepted as part of the franchise and as the name of Flash's sidekick. Like there's Batman and Robin, Green Arrow and Speedy, and Flash and Kid Flash. And media adaptions have used it pretty frequently.

if Wally never got deleted by Flashpoint... where would he, Linda, and the kids be and what would they be doing... assuming Darkseid's worldwide invasion to find his daughter Grail happened immediately after Flashpoint instead of it being an origin story
