Yeah, still not sold on the altered lightning bolt (ala animated JL) insignia but other than that it's pretty spot on!

Do you really believe the suit would still be considered iconic to this day if Wally hadn't worn some variation of it throughout his run?

Yeah, actually. Its probably one of the best designed superhero suits of all time. I think people forget that the re-creation of the Flash in the 50s more or less saved superhero comics.

I think Wally could have had an iconic costume in his own right had DC not been so obsessed with branding, just like John Stewart and Kyle Rayner did when Hal was gone. I think people forget how John was usually a side character until his time in the JL cartoon made him and his costume just as recognizable, if not more so, than the iconic Hal Jordan version.

Dred didn't insult the character. Barry was removed from the DCU for more than 20 years and pretty much all advances made in the franchise during that period did not account for him or taken him into account. His return was poorly executed and not much in it had staying power.

Barry is not the be all, end all of the franchise and hasn't been since the early 90's. He either shares Wally's run as history, or gets turned into generic speedster from yesteryear. That's not an offense, just an honest look at the franchise.

Barry wouldn't have anything without the suit is what he said. Of course that's an insult. If anything, I think it's more insulting to think Wally isn't a strong enough character to succeed without dressing up like somebody else.

Oh this is fantastic! I'm a sucker for art that is stylized, dynamic and looks like animation work.

And Wally's suit has enough variation that DC can put Barry back in his original suit and have two distinct but instantly recognisable Flashes. C'mon DC, do it...
