    Another Canon Question.

Is she the first Batgirl or Bette?
How old should she be when debuting as Batgirl?

Of course this relates to your preferred age difference with Dick and how long after Batman, Robin, Bette and Kathy if they apply

I think for the sake of narrative Babs should be the first but Bette takes up her own costume and becomes her own kind of Bat-Girl but doesn't get the mileage and success that Babs does.

I know some prefer an adult Batgirl, and present-day so do I, but I'm fine with her starting out in her teens.

Well, you had Bette (originally "Betty") appearing as "Bat-Girl" (with hyphen) before Barbara in 1961, but then it felt like DC did their best to forget about her when they switched to the "New Look" version of Batman in 1964. No mention of Betty (later Bette) was ever made after Barbara became Batgirl in late 1966 that I'm aware of until about ten years after Barbara's debut.

As to how old Barbara should be when debuting as Batgirl, originally she was a librarian while Dick was still a high school student, so Barbara at that point would have graduated with a Masters degree from college. (So probably at least 5-6 years older than Dick unless Barbara started college significantly earlier than around 17-18 years old?)

Then again, there's been a lot of changes to and de-aging of Barbara over the years.

Bette was retconned after Crisis to having always been called Flamebird, right? Which makes Babs the original Batgirl.

I believe originally that was the case, but wasn't her Bat-Girl period sort of brought back during Grant Morrison's Batman / Batman Incorporated runs?

So alleged WB has shelved the Batgirl this is from the NY post. So we have to wait but with Joe New York Post is it's not true but it will be spreading like fire for sure in certain areas.

If this is true. Why is it being shelved ? This also makes you wonder what's going to happen with black canary
