Maybe Betsy becomes Captain Krakoa now that the name is up for grabs? Makes more sense tbh

Krakoa, Arakko, and Otherworld forever!
She'll still be connected to Britain, for now anyway. In the last X-Men Monday Jordan said about the mantle, "... sinister forces within the British government are conspiring to deny her that right. For her to just abandon it would be just giving up and letting them win. And I don’t think that she has any interest in doing that. I also don’t think she’s ready to abandon Britain. So I don’t expect that story’s over. I think you will see future developments on that."

Well I'm glad they updated what they wanted to see in their petition. I agree with most of it.
I think a new writer would be able to handle all things that are mentioned.
Tini H. has a specific story she wants to tell and going by her interviews she as the writer is cherry picking what she wants to use that falls in line with the narrative she wants to tell; which is her right becuase she is the writer. So in conclusion, we are stuck with that until she moves on from the character.
I'm never gonna be a fan of her dialogue or writing style but I will appreciate what she TRIED to execute.
It's still important to acknowledge why her writing doesn't cut it (and by that, I mean anything but Internet abuse), not just wait until her next work falls apart. Part of the challenge of writing books for Marvel and DC is writing characters with fluidity and respect toward the work accomplished by previous writers. We have some of the best talents by way of Britain as far as writing is concerned in Gillen, Spurrier and Ewing and neither has shown any interest in using her now, despite the fact that the first two have used her extensively in the past. Tini H. and her editors are responisble for this.
I'm very happy that the petition underlines among other things the need for feedback from the fans.
Yes, the updated language is better. The original version called for placing Betsy in another book, thus scrapping a potential Captain Britain title starring a queer couple. Not a good look.
From reading Howard's substack she seems very open to conversing with readers. Maybe she'll see the requests and consider them. The book is coming no matter what so the best thing is to accept it and maybe discuss what things people would want to see in it. I like the idea of the Furies aligning with other villain groups, and I 100% agree with exploring Betsy's powers more in depth, as well as more air-time with some of her closest friends.
I'd also like to see her rogue gallery built up. Bring in a revamped Vixen and Slaymaster (who killed some of her Psi Division teammates). And with Krakoa wide open to Otherworld now, there should be no shortage of mutant cameos.

I 100% agree with you. Her interviews and how she talks about Betsy and her plans are always exciting. She has great ideas and a great knowledge of the comics... but I'm always disappointed by her dialogues, character development and action scenes. It always feels very two dimensional and rushed.
That's why I signed the petition. I think we are stuck with Tini for what I hope is her last time writing Betsy but Marvel should take notice that are core fans would like something else.
I reread today the Mystery in Madripoor and the Disassembled stories and it was bittersweet. The look, her power set and her action scenes felt so what I always wanted for Betsy. Elas it was so short lived. I hope the next writer that has her on his roster will go back to that.
A picture would last longer darling...
I listened to Tini’s interviews and I can see where she went wrong. She out her own self doubt as a woman doing a job normally done by men (Comic book writer). Honestly, a lot of fans just didn’t like it in part because people read comics for escapism and there is a backlash against social justice. I think Tini sue good stuff for X of Swords, but fell short with it taking so long to bring Betsy back and then the unnecessary Malice storyline. Had she write things like she did at the end of Excalibur and at Knifgts, sakes would not have fallen so low.
Still this is a lessen for Tini. You gotta have self confidence and your work has to be good. You cannot hide behind your sex.
As for disappointed fans, Marvel does listen to sales and public opinion. Which is why we will have a fresh take on Betsy and the Captain Britain corps. Most people seem to be okay with the concepts, bjt found the execution lacking.
I also kind of want her more involved in the Krakoa side of things. Especially with the "big" ORCHIS threat. I hope she and her team of co-stars get to handle that and Coven Akkaba when she gets back to Earth based missions.
Otherworld is a Krakoa gate away. So I HOPE we get at least a mini arc of what she thinks about the human threat side.
