And I see that ICv2 has slightly different "numbers" or methodology than Comichron.

ICv2, as it pertains to I AM BATMAN; and these are the sales rankings out of the top 200 comics:

April 2022 -- 90th place for I AM BATMAN #8
May 2022 -- 106th place for I AM BATMAN #9
June 2022 -- 149th place for I AM BATMAN #10
July 2022 -- 125th place for I AM BATMAN #11

So a slight improvement.

No, I love the book, but yeah, it's kind of rough sledding.

Tiff is going to be fun. The Sinestro thing will probably give it a bump, but yeah... 18 issues, maybe 24.

That's solid enough for a Black super-hero character in this market. That's a decent run. And it's kind of like what most things seem to get nowadays -- run for a couple of years, then relaunch.

Hopefully Jace gets a relaunch, but I dunno... I wouldn't bet any money on it.

I'll enjoy it while it lasts, though -- it and DETECTIVE COMICS are the only things that I buy every month, so I'm doing my part.

Yeah, John Ridley has enough spinning plates to easily get to 24 issues.

Canceling it 18 would be cutting a lot of storylines short. But at this point the book may be losing money with each issue, so...

Like they're doing with Renee, maybe do something with Tiffany in a mini or something. And get Olivier Coipel to draw it.

I would love it if they did that.

Of course, throwing in Sinestro for an issue doesn't really help the story all that much that he's telling. But I guess you gotta do what you gotta do -- you need that event tie-in sales bump.

Since they didn't even have an artist for the issue when they announced it, I don't know why they didn't just make it a separate DARK CRISIS one-shot. You get a two-for then: a regular issue, and an event tie-in sales bump issue.

The solicitations will be out in another week or two, I'm guessing they'll have an artist by then.

Speaking of which, I knew there was trouble from the second issue solicitation. Because it was like, "Oh my god, Olivier Coipel is gone already? He only did an issue."

So issue two had a new artist. And issues three thru five had multiple artists. Then issue six had Ken Lashley, and he's decent. But he was only on for one issue. Then back to Christian Duce. Then of course we had last issue with six pages of art by a different artist. And now issue #15 is going to have a different artist.

I assume Christian Duce will be back for issue #16... but who knows.

Either way, it's like, "Good lord... do they even care? They wouldn't do this to Bruce."

The struggle is real, yo.

I’d like to think the book can make it to 25. If the book stays in the top 150 range, I don’t see why Ridley wouldn’t be able to finish telling the story he intended to tell. However long it lasts, they need to keep Christian Duce as the main artist, he’s been killing it!
