So happy they are coming back
I'm happy to hear so much new Gambit and Rogue news!

I alas only have the Gambit Funko I have never found the Rogue Funko at stores!
I just bought the Rogue figure a few days ago, ( I didn't get the Gambit one cuz it sold out) I had no idea she has blood? on her hand til today when I looked at it.
I think it was the link from gambit’s powers too, but i don’t have the statue, so can’t say for sure. It is super cute though. I’ve got both pops, but I was lazy and got them online, the glow in the dark one too.
It's part of a set from the X-Men MiniCo line from Iron Studios. Rogue's supposed to be borrowing Gambit's powers. (I'm assuming).

Ah, lovely! I just re-read MMX to prep myself.
What are you hoping to see in the series?
Here’s my wish list:
Sexy-times! I want chemistry so reactive it burns through the page.
Funny-times. Maybe winning Destiny over?
Gambit’s personality restored (please please take cues from Claremont’s most recent characterization) and some developments for him as a character (not cat or Rogue focused).
Literally the best artist at marvel right now for these two.
Very pleased with this book coming and no Howard in sight.
In anticipation I’m going to re read most of the 90s trades and X treme, then skip straight to rogue & gambit mini, X-men Gold wedding issue, and finally Mr & Mrs X.
Avoiding all the crap after X treme.
Looking great!
I think my biggest hope is that this book will do something to build them as characters and be more than just a fun romp. Though at this point, I'd also settle for a fun romp and just seeing them be sexy and actually act like they enjoy and care about each other.
But we got completely robbed on Rogue's reunion with Destiny to the point where their relationship is now feeling extremely strained and awkward. I'd like that fixed.
As for Remy, re-establish him as something of a badass. And I'd love to see Mystique or Destiny learn so respect for him.
Both Rogue and Gambit need an actual purpose within Krakoa still and/or a meaningful direction.
But I'm also still exceedingly stoked about the upcoming Captain Marvel to help tide us over until March.
We will be fed again SOON.

Rogue kinda looks like she’s trying to do the splits there, lol. I’m guessing she’s flying/jumping or something? I like all of your ideas applej.

AIPT: Well, speaking of… Rogue and Gambit have had a few series — most recently Mr. & Mrs. X. What, in your opinion, makes the upcoming Rogue & Gambit unique compared to this iconic X-couple’s past outings?
Jordan: Well, this is spinning out of the X-Men title. First of all, since Rogue joined the X-Men, Rogue and Gambit were separated a bunch, but then we have featured them together in the X-Men title, and we got that great scene of Rogue and Gambit on a mission that Destiny was there interfering in. And that family dynamic of Rogue, Gambit, Destiny, and Mystique that we haven’t really seen explored as much was very exciting to us. So that’s something that we very much wanted to spotlight in its own book.
Editor Sarah Brunstad reached out to Stephanie Phillips to see if she was interested. And she very much was, and they cooked up a real fun story that I think will be an awesome and fun part of the X-line, but also one that is serving a specific purpose that I can’t go into yet.
Well, I'm down...so long's Gambit is not the butt of every joke. But I love family drama - and possibly a set up for them being more relevant to the Krakoa era (finally).
Hmmrrhhh, yeah it's interesting to me that it took that interaction in X-Men and the fan reaction for editorial to finally realize that they've been missing some key X-family goodness that people WANT to read.
Still MAD that Rogue wasn't involved in Destiny's return. It was a glaring oversight.
I feel a bit icky though about how Gambit will be handled if this is jumping out of some MIL joke.
I hope that's not the case. Ugh, it's always such a gamble when your faves get a new writer. But they definitely need the change and also for something significant to come out of it, so fingers (and toes) crossed.
Anyone get a chance to read Stephanie's other work so far?
