Secret cult of magical thieves is prob the last place Sinister would look. Maybe Sinister couldn’t find him until Remy manifested his mutant abilities. Or Sinister chucked baby Remy in the garbage baby pile and someone snuck him out. Years later, Sinister says: oh, garbage baby is still alive? I’ll look into that.

Mueller’s longevity could have been imparted on Gambit. The Witness looks hella old. Boy, if he and Fonte end up siblings, that’s going to be an awkward Luke and Leia moment, considering Fontanelle couldn’t keep her hands off dream-Gambit. Ew.

Please no clones, please no Summers relation. Think Remy is safe from that, no way the writers would make Gambit part of the Cyke the golden boy’s famdamnly.

But if Marvel does dive into his backstory because writers(and many fans) are obsessed with over-complicating backstories and making everyone's history connected to everyone else's if not outright related(thus making the world feel even smaller), then I also second NicoPony's request for no clones and no Summers relation.

Yeah, Scott, Alex and Gabe's grandfather Philip Summers is the grandson of Daniel Summers and Amanda Mueller. Don't care enough to try and navigate the headache of what manner of second cousin or uncle that would make Remy if Amanda Mueller is his mother in some fashion, lol, but there would be a definite relation.

Tbh, I wouldn't mind Remy being revealed as the fifth Summers brother or some kind of Summers family relation just for Scott to try and be like "hey welcome to the family - " only Remy just shuts that **** down, and is like nope, nope, nope. Not doing this. And he's like wait what?

Remy: "No offense, Cyke, I like you and your brothers and your multiple versions of the same wife and your time traveling future kids and messianic granddaughter and all that, but you messy. Your family be messy as hell, always just one family tree branch shy of destroying de whole space/time continuum with the sheer weight of your collective absurdity, and I just don't got time for that, non? So let's just pretend we never found out what we just found out and you go be a Summers and I be a LeBeau, and that's that."

Scott: "But..."

Remy: "Nope."

Scott: "I can't just...."

Remy: "Hear anything over all dis noise outside? Me neither."

Any time after that Scott tries to reveal their connection or tell people that Remy's a Summers brother or uncle or cousin or whatever:

Remy: "Got literally no idea what this man is talking about. Can you imagine? Me? A Summers? LOL. Someone better get down to Arbor Magna and check that things all ship-shape with the rez protocols, cuz sounds to me like this latest batch of Cyclops came out de EZ-Bake oven a little too early, you know what I'm saying?"

LOL This is EXACTLY how that would go down. Yes!

Yeah, it's not like suddenly Cyke and Remy would be besties who celebrate holidays together. Noooo.

Anyway, that woukd mean assuming we are talking Gambit getting half of Amanda Mueller's chromosomes and mitochondria, which totally is not a given to me. What if he only had a hunk of her mutant gene? Doesn't exactly make them relatives, but also doesn't make them nothing to each other.

Perhaps as some have suggested Remy could be one of the oldest of Sinister's chimeras? Just one of many vials of embryos that got lost.

And I can totally think of ways to make ALL these things true and tie it back to Jean Luc's original story and the connection to the Thieves Guild.

Because I DO want to maintain the part of Remy being a baby who was rejected by his birth parents. There's something very vital to his character in that history. I feel that.

And I appreciate the love for simplicity, though I definitely have a penchant for the ridiculously complicated ... because A. Genetics are fun and B. Come on, it's X-Men! LOL

Aww, poor Cyke. I'd imagine if it turned out Gambit had a blood relative, he might be delighted to find that out. Then it could be like that episode of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic where Pinkie Pie and Apple Jack find out they are distantly related and stay with one another's extended family.

That Remy has a connection to Black Womb and Sinister is undeniable. So whatever his origins are, you know they'll be f-ed up.

Sinister does have a pile of dead garbage babies in his Nebraska lab, which is what spurred drunken Nanny to attack Sinister with a broken bottle. Mueller smothers baby mutants who don't turn out right. Gambit's powers didn't work right until Sinister gave him a lobotomy. I think Gambit was a reject baby who got saved from the trash heap...looking at Destiny here with sus eyes.

The only thing that bothers me about Remy's past is his involvement with the Mutant Massacre. Tommy's involvement should be canon and Remy's involvement should be retconned as a lie by Remy or something.

I more have a problem with the reaction from the X-Men to his involvement than the involvement itself. People act like he actively killed them when he really tried to stop it when it realized what was happening.

When I heard the news I debated on whether to post it hear because of the talk about him as Gambit. A good French actor. Had a lot more potential. I know he’s in the new Moon Knight show but idk how big his role is or what they will do with that. Recast or change some stuff around. Who knows
