God yes! I remember when that was first announced and that teaser image shown… man, I was so excited. Ed McGuinness is probably my second favorite artist to ever draw Cable, right behind Ian Churchill. That’s how I always picture him in my head… big and bulky (built like a brick s#!thouse), about mid-to-late 40s in appearance… good stuff.
Really hoping for some exciting developments in X-men Red for our boy the Askani’son.
I enjoyed it. It was a fun little prelude to AvX, but I hated how they A) took him off the board for that event (which freakin' centered around Hope and precisely what Nathan had spent 17 damn years of his life training her for!) at the end, and B) cured him of the T-O virus -- making him fully flesh and blood (versus still half bionic like in Cable/Deadpool when he cured himself of the virus in that series) -- but then instantly forced him to wear some bizarre prosthetic mechanical left arm anyway and nerfed his powers.
Seemed like that was a new status quo that Loeb set up, but Hopeless and the other writers who followed did not explore it at all. They just forced him back into being a cyborg-like guy.

It was incredible. Cable was awesome in this, and I love his new look. X-men Red #1 is the best comic I’ve read in quite some time.
