616 Kitty's notorious for having no sense of fashion, lol. It's why most of her costumes have been based on the standard 1960s suits (her original one was literally the same as Jean's first costume, and several later ones were similar, just without the cowl). The only major deviations from the blue and gold look was her Excalibur era Shadowcat suit, which would now be considered dated, the costumes she wore in Guardians of the Galaxy, one of which was just a copy of Star-Lord's and the other very shortlived, and then her current Marauders outfit, which was Emma Frost's idea. They used to be enemies, but now the White Queen has taken the former fashion disaster under her wing.

I wonder if she will be a love interest or if they'll have her focused on girls here.

Nico's got better style than 616 Kitty at least .
    I can dig that.

If Zendaya shows up as her crush first I would love that.

I do sincerely love all of Ultimate Kitty's costumes. That blue/gold dress uniform was delightful.
Continuity, even in a "shared" comics universe is often insignificant if not largely detrimental to the quality of a comic.

Ultimate Kitty did have some great costumes .

I remember when she was sporting something like Hellcat's at some point...

So apparently it's been clarified that Freshman year takes place in a divergent timeline from the Mainstream MCU. Functionally it's a What If that ponders a scenario in which Norman Osborn becomes a young Tom Holland's mentor rather than Tony Stark.

I feel like there's too many changes to think it's a divergent timeline, but it feels like it's because they want the publicity of connecting it to the MCU without admitting it's basically a standalone Spider-Man cartoon.

Like, I don't think Peter being mentored by Norman Osborn would mean he would automatically associate with a completely different set of people.

I saw a rat the moment the logo was revealed, as it's the classic comics logo, not the MCU movies one. And they should've used a different logo, considering the Spider-Verse movies already use the classic logo.

Read Midnight Suns #1, Nico is actually a fairly major entity in the comic, and she actually uses some magic outside of her staff. I guess it makes sense that they're continuing the "storyline" or Nico being an instructor at the Strange Academy despite it never being brought up during Rowell's run. I guess Trader Joe's was just a cover?

I have long wanted for Nico to learn some actual magic, and not be dependent on the Staff of One, even before the reveal that it was a malevolent entity.

And for Gert to get some cybernetic upgrades (drug/poison-injecting needles that slide out from under her nails?) that allow her to take the name Arsenic, to synergize with Old Lace.

Well, there's actually a Strange Academy character there, so of course Nico teaching there will come up. Is it possible that Strange Academy simply starts after Runaways finishes? It's not like Runaways was involved in any events (though the J-Team arc was well timed for them to dodge Outlawed).

    Bring Back Xavin.

Have them join the Kree Skrull Alliance under Emperor Theodore "Teddy" Rufus "Hulkling" Altman Kaplan, the great unifier Dorrek VIII, beloved Princess Muscles & Space Hunk of the Cosmos.

    ALSO
How are folks feeling about Nico's handling in the Midnight Suns comic?

They fact that they didn’t come back until the finale of Rowell’s run is honestly a disgrace.

But we can't have too much plot or character drama in Rowell's Runaways .

It would be lovely to see them pop up in a major role again. I'm pretty sure Xavin has had more HeroClix figures made in the past decade than comics appearances.
