I was the exact opposite. In the first scene in the comic, Chase's dad is punching him for being a dumb jock, and not a science-dude like himself, and yet, he never looks remotely like a 'dumb jock,' so much (as you suggest), a slacker stoner. The text suggests he should look like a Fred, and he's drawn as a Shaggy.

I get that daddy Stein is an unreliable narrator and all that, but I had zero qualms with Chase actually looking like the text described him in the first time I encountered him.

Other changes, like the increased focus on the parents, or Molly being older (and Latina), were fine for me. But I kind of loathed the attempt to science-fy the Staff of One in the first season, and then the later season subverting that just felt weird and inconsistent. And I did love some of the parents actors. The Steins, the Minorus, Mama Dean, the Yorkes, the Wilders, all fun in their own way.

But I freaking love Lyrica Okano as Nico, I'm glad she's returning for Midnight Suns and hopefully, she can show up in more stuff.
To be fair, Lyrica is not that much younger than Gregg. He turned 30 this year, and she'll be turning 28 some months from now. They're both aging out of the roles, unfortunately. Runaways isn't really the type of live-action franchise that you can leave in the ice for that reason. The more time that it passes, the less likely it is for them to use the same cast for a revival.

I used to love the idea of the Runaways show, but now I can't help but feel a little resentful towards it because I feel like it might've killed their chance of being in the ''real'' MCU when they still had so much potential for more stories to be old in live-action.

It would be cool if they reprised them in voiceover though...

Yeah, even though the New Warriors live action show fell through, the actress intended to play Squirrel Girl still became her official VA, in Marvel Rising and in a new Squirrel Girl webcast, so it's not unheard of. Unfortunately, I can't think of any other similar examples?

In regards to voice actors I've always imagined Molly Heyes being voiced by Kirsten Schaal since I've always seen her as a combination of Louise Belcher and Mabel Pines.

Belcher... from Bob's Burgers, right? I've never watched that show but I've heard of it. I don't know who Mabel Pines is though.

Mabel Pines was one of the co-lead characters of "Gravity Falls." A rather popular, and critically acclaimed animated series on the Disney Channel. Kirsten Schaal voiced the character.

I don't really like the idea of Schaal as Molly in an animated adaptation though. Couldn't say who I would like, but I don't think Schaal has the range for any character that wasn't specifically written with her portrayal in mind.
Continuity, even in a "shared" comics universe is often insignificant if not largely detrimental to the quality of a comic.

In the SPIDER-MAN : FRESHMEN YEAR

Peter's best friend is Runaways Nico Minoru!

I think in this series, Nico is not a runaway and he doesn't have any of the other Runaways, right?

Sister Grimm, Brawn and Wave are all there... Amadeus definitely IS Brawn as well, he has green skin, so we can probably expect Pearl and Nico to have their powers too.

That is so frikkin random. Like, not MJ but Nico!?

I always thought the Runaways would make a good team-up episode in a Spider-Man cartoon.

I am/was so hyped for this, but I'm confused. The show was said to be a prequel to MCU Peter but everything about it seems to suggest otherwise.

What the hell? Now that's a random place for Nico to show up. Not sure how to feel about this because while I love her being included, this setting just has the potential to basically turn her into an OC instead of the character we know. If it was like a Strange Academy animation, I would get it, but high school friend of Peter Parker???

If they really wanted to give Peter an asian female classmate that would actually make sense for the character... Cindy Moon was right there!

Right? Even disregarding the TV show as canon, I have a really hard time accepting that Nico Minoru's official introduction to the MCU would be like this.

I guess the show having an arc against a magic villain would explain why they wanted to include Nico... but I'm still on the fence about this. Let's see how it turns out.

Not only friend, but best friend.

I think that's supposed to be Cindy on the far left.
