While I think it’s more likely that it’s just a variant cover and not to read too much into it, I wouldn’t like to totally dismiss the idea that we could get some interaction in the future. There’s been a couple of covers now depicting some type of interaction.
Sadly covers very rarely tie into the content anymore.

It’s possible we could have some romance or at least some flirting since we know they’ll be spending time together, but I’m just really enjoying this cover!

I just read this review of Legion of X:

It got me thinking about the problems I had with Nightcrawler’s characterization in Way of X and it may be as the review suggests, that Kurt was very one dimensional and stereotypical (religious label), without the nuances of how Kurt practiced his faith or viewed the world. Especially spurriers portrayal of it issue #3.

While I think Legion of X is an improvement and I did enjoy the first issue, I’m wondering if Kurt’s going to be labeled again. I’m already noticing that each character is being assigned a specific role, what will Kurt’s be?

Right now I’m noticing he is still playing the role of a confused tourist, following a guide around while being told how the world around him functions.

Maybe I’m being too harsh and I really didn’t mind Kurt’s portrayal in Legion of X #1 at all, but it was the same for Way of X 1# and then it all went downhill from there.

I dig the costume variation with the sleeveless coat acting sort of like a cape.

I recently bought the 1/100 (I think) Iron studios statue and it looks GOOD.
But this is WAY TOO CUTE ! Don't exactly love the feet but the BAMF effect...
