Illyana is absent every preview for the various short stories in New Mutants 30. She might have a minor appearance in the modern story and the Warlock story. Magma is also missing, but she makes more sense since she's always missing.

CBR has 2 articles this week about the 2000 Magik series starring Amanda, and they are more likely to confuse readers than inform them. When you're calling Amanda Sefton the X-Men's War Captain you done goofed somewhere.
They finally released the Magik spotlight video for the Midnight Suns game.
Edit: It took them so long to release this and they mix up Belasco and Mephisto?

Man despite how bad the New Mutants movie is and the random decision to make Illyana super racist ATJ is perfectly cast. Hopefully if the MCU reuses the character she comes back.
I think she's aging herself out of the role. I dont expect to see Illyana anytime soon and if and when they get to her, Anna will likely be in her 30s
MCU got an actress much younger than Harkness looks to portray Agatha. So the MCU doesn’t follow age. An ancient Patrick Stewart played an Xavier variant.
So yes, an Anna in her 30s could still play Magik, particularly since comics Magik is not a child and lives for who knows how many years in Limbo, where time is different. Acting like actors over the age of 25 are headed for the nursing home is a bit much, especially when the fans are likely no spring chickens themselves.
Agatha is still an adult. Illyana at the very least needs to be younger than the core X-men and definitely younger than Colossus. I dont see them starting with a 30 something year old actress playing Magik bc that would automatically age all those other characters. And for what? Anna did good as Illyana but she most certainly wasnt iconic nor someone they need to stretch things in order to keep around
And no one said an actress over 25 is heading for the nursing home. Thats you taking things to the extreme. Any actor over 30 playing a teenage character will always get the side eye and yes Illyana needs to be introduced as a teen
Robert Downey Jr, who started the Avengers franchise was no spring chicken. Nor was Mark Ruffalo. Nor Jeremy Renner.
MCU is the company that would cast Angelina Jolie as Thena, Salma Hayek as Ajak, and Julia Dreyfus as Contessa. They are not going for an all teen deal. In recent years in Hollywood, they have called our sexism and ageism.
An MCU Illyana does not have to be younger than Colossus. MCU has been known to alter details like that.
What do any of those characters have to do with Illyana? Those are all adults. Teenage characters are different. Someone in their early to mid 20s is kinda the upper limit for playing those roles before it just doesnt work and is more distracting. Not wanting to cast someone in their 30s to play a teenager is not ageism. Dont just throw that word around without using it in the proper context
Illyana doesnt have to be younger than Piotr but most likely will be. They are arguably each other's most well defined relationship and core to that dynamic is her being his little sister. All of that is lost if she is older and there are dynamics that they simply cant play off of. Keeping Anna in the role isnt worth losing that
