Liking that Danny is here. The art is a little off to me though. Danny's legs look a little too skinny in those skinny jeans, right? But Danny does show how he's a competent martial artist even without the Iron Fist. He's looking gruffer here too. I dig that.
Moreover, the new Iron Fist looks intriguing. His fists glow green, not yellow. This is to show that his powers are not from Shou Lao, right?
The series seems worth a look.

Yeah, that art is a HUGE step down from the David Aja days. What's with Danny's (very) pretty face?!

Lettered preview of Iron Fist (2022)
I'm feeling better about this preview. The writing shows Danny's character. Plus, there are a ton of cool nods here and there. (Ha, yes, nice shout out to the 7 train to Flushing. The journey's long from the Port Authority to Flushing, but the 7 gets you there. The savvier New Yorkers out there will probably know better routes, but I'm good with the 7. I digress though).
Good to know that certain things are still present. Yes, Danny knows a lot of Kung Fu. He's going to meet up with Luke and Pei. So Danny's core cast members are there.
There are aspects that are still iffy for me. Think the artist is too accurate to Finn Jones' appearance. Danny's skinny jeans are still a tough sell. As is this new Iron Fist. Danny's right, he's a little too cosplay. He looks a little too young. Taking out a demon with a chi punch? That's standard Iron Fist stuff. Let's see him do better.
Looking forward to this issue.

An unlettered preview of issue #2 of the Iron Fist series:

I'm feeling good with the preview. The action scenes look pretty cool. We also see Danny and the rest of the Heroes for Hire crew. Still, I'm a little miffed with how they depict Pei. Looks like she's six! Thought she was a tween at the very least!
Still looks good.

I posted this in the Shang-Chi thread. However, it also works for Iron Fist. This is an interesting clip from Accented Cinema I watched regarding when does an Asian inspired something become offensive.
I like the criteria the maker uses. Is the work made out of genuine interest? What is the context? Maybe it's not progressive for today's standards, but hey it was progressive back then. And yeah, even if elements of it are problematic, the whole thing isn't problematic. You can enjoy it.
I think these criteria apply well to Iron Fist. Regardless of what people say, we can still enjoy the character.
