I liked Emma and Scott in the beginning, but things got bad for her character after Messiah Complex and as soon as they moved to Utopia. The interface for their relationship was reasonable with Emma funding everything and orchestrating the X-Men's intentions behind the scenes with Cyclops at the helm, but the implementation was bad, and Emma's character took a backseat while they pushed Cyclops, who got all the credit. It was a real disservice.
It's kinda like Death of X and Inhumans vs X-Men... the framework for the story was passable, but the implementation was terrible, and it made Emma look crazy.
If you read her biographies, it doesn't seem all that bad, but when you read the actual books, you're like, shittttttt.

*sigh* I miss good art
I actually really liked Scott and Emma.
In many ways I think Emma understood Scott more than Jean, because Emma and Scott had more things in common. Both were more tactical people who don't feel the need to be overly extroverted. Where I think Jean challenged Scott to open up more and be more social, I think Emma accepted Scott for who he was.
Emma and Scott was a more mature and messy relationship, where Jean and Scott was more of the idealize fairy tale; which is why I think people tend to prefer Jean and Scott. Emma was always able to accept that Scott had been married to Jean and at one time did very much love her. Both were able to acknowledge their flaws and communicate pretty openly. Both had their problems and acknowledged that the beginning of their relationship was pretty messy.
I especially liked the small moments in their relationship when it was shown in the comics, like Scott painting Emma's toes or their conversations in the morning.

I think we got to see Emma & Scott in an more intimate setting on a more frequent basis. The "down time" was far and few between with Scott and Jean...doesn't mean it didn't happen, but it made it easier for Morisson to make the argument that you never see them together like you imagine a couple in love like you should.
I do think Emma & Scott were good together...for a time.
Anyone else really want to see Emma & Psylocke make more of a connection together?
Both are telepaths, both have brothers that went insane, both have committed acts in that gray area of life, both come from money and a higher class of society
I dont think Emma and Betsy stand each other...

I loved Emma and Scott together, it was very nice to read X-Men when they were a couple.
