Hi K7P5V,
Not that I have heard, but I didn't read that storyline.
I do know years ago, I think Rogue absorbed something alien and her powers went more out of control but were reset by Hope or some such garbage, so that they work "the way they were supposed to" without problems.
That is the only thing I can think of which allowed Rogue to now absorb Simon. (Outside of bad writing)
But I don't like it. I much prefer that Simon be immune to her powers.

Thanks! Coipel has become legendary (IMHO):
Hey, Phoenixx9! Thanks for another great explanation/response.
And I agree, would LOVE for things to go back to the way they were when Simon was one of the few who could resist being absorbed (T^T)

The way I see it, Simon allowed her to absorb him (especially since she absorbed the others' powers, not their bodies). Conflicted over the whole pacifist nonsense, he stayed hidden in her, not having to act in any way, untill he decided it was time to leave. It's stupid, anyway, however, it's the only explanation I can see that makes any kind of sense.
Peace
But that is not how either Rogue nor Simon's powers work...when Rogue could not absorb Simon originally, it was not because he did not want her to, she just could not. He was immune, as a creature of living energy.
It should go back to that.
Let Rogue absorb Hyperion in the above pic.

Could be.
Or it could just have to do with the changes in both of their powers in the years (in-story; decades in real time) between the two stories. Simon in particular has gone through big changes--including at least one death and rebirth since then. The very nature of his physical form has fluctuated -- there have been times when he was a flesh-and-blood man, whose cells were all charged with ionic energy. There have been other times where he's been literally made out of energy, and just takes on a human appearance.
It is reasonable to suggest that just because Rogue's powers couldn't absorb him in one version of his body/powers does not mean she couldn't absorb him in a different version. But I do agree that it would be good to see Simon's immunity to Rogue's power get restored--its good for Rogue for there to be exceptions to the rule when it comes to her powers, and its good for Simon to have that unique distinction (just like his ionic nature also made him immune to the Purple Man's powers).
