Simon in a speedo seems out of character. Tony Stark -- I can see. Even Clint Barton, but not Simon. Hercules would just wear a thong -- if that!

This quality image look good. The ones I search them and post here look quite dull. May I know if your site over there have the same quality or not?

I don't recall the source website, but I just Googled "wonder man swimsuit special" and this was the first one that popped up.

But yeah, that Jr Jr pic is easily one of the worst pics of any character in any of the Swimsuit Specials. It is hardly a prime example of his art and his choice of background/prop for the image with an apparently dead lizard/serpent creature wrapped around him with blood or whatever pouring from its mouth....seriously, what the hell was he thinking when he came up with that picture concept, and what editor approved it?

It really is terrible; like current day Action Comics JR Jr bad. Which is weird because this art is from 1992 ('93?), when he was on his second Uncanny X-Men run - which was probably the last time I actually enjoyed his work!

On second look, they're actually two different speedos! But you're correct - not only is the Adam Hughes speedo better than the JR Jr one, Simon also fills it out better.

I've officially spent way too much time examining these images.

Yeah, I even liked his late 80's/early 90's Iron Man run (which was right before O:GS) so I would've been ok with him on AWC. But for some reason this Swimsuit Special image is just awful imho...

In story, had there been a strong and stable west coast super-team (Force Works, or WCA), who, doubtfully would have been hanging around in NY to be swallowed up by Onslaught, The Thunderbots ruse would have been much more difficult to implement, perhaps, impossible, for the world would still have a powerful and established group of protectors to rely on.

As much as hated Simon's death in Force Works #1, he also dodged a lot of sh!tty stories. For the most part, '94-'97 were incredibly weak years in the Marvel Universe.
