J.M. DeMatteis has a personal fondness to Peter and MJ's marriage and respects continuity. I'm sure his mind is similar to mine in that if you rewind time to before the deal they were married. Everything in Spider-Man history happened the way it was told and the new history only is valid in the period after the deal through the power of Mephisto's magic, not before it.

All of the teases, hints and editorial comments from Lowe are absolutely meaningless until something like OMD sent to the history books, Spider-Dad, the marriage restored and similar things actually happen in ASM. Until then I am sticking with my ASM 1000 prediction until meaningful change happens:
