Pops up at the end after Flash and Wonder Woman are shown to be incapacitated by the bad guy to "reveal" that he is too.

Yes, he's mind-controlled by the villain again. I can let it slide this time because of that amazing Dan Mora art.
    No argument there .

Mora never misses! You know what? It's happened enough times now that it's just funny, I think they should turn Hal getting mind-bamboozled into a recurring gag

Waid has proven he likes Hal, and even Superman himself was subjected to "Red Kryptonite Lunacy" in issue 1.

So I'm not gonna treat this one as a big deal yet, and just enjoy the pretty art.

Yeah me neither, I'm more perplexed at Barry's New 52-ish look than anything else seeing as everyone is sporting a classic look.

Yeah, I was gonna say that Waid writes a GREAT Hal, so I'm not too worried here. Hell, his JLA: Year One and Flash and GL: The Brave and the Bold series were some of the comics that made me love Hal in the first place.

Well, Waid also wrote the "Brave & the Bold" with Hal and jailbait (she's 17, she's 17, she's 17) Supergirl...

Boggles my mind that some people are often trying to rationalise it away instead of just admitting that Waid had written some **** scenes for Hal in the past.

The GL/Supergirl story was also drawn by Perez. It's interesting Waid decided to do a story like in the late 2000s when Hal was at his peak and anything that could even remotely remind people of the Arisia nonsense should've been a big no-no by editorial. If nothing else, and I suppose this is my way of trying to rationalize it away as you said, Hal at least made it clear not only to the readers but to Kara too that she was way too young and even if she was older it wouldn't work too. If you were also a new fan at the time and didn't know about Arisia you may not even catch the obvious callbacks to that.

That same comic also has the excellent Hal and Bruce scene at the casino though. Waid usually writes a very good Hal but there are some odd moments here and there (his JLA: Year One Hal was a bit too much of a cocky frat boy but his Hal in Brave and the Bold was fantastic).
