I'll just say it's all in the execution and handling of it and sometimes certain characters can feel like they're taking traits or elements from another version without it being necessary.

I don't think he's all that interesting, given what we have of him. Jessica's main villain should be herself and her anxietiy/insecurities. Volthoom was just some white haired dude living in her ring that got purged. Aside from him living in her ring, there's not much personal connection or tragedy. Having Jessica's main enemy be this guy (who was pretty easily defeated, it wasn't much of an event) when there's a whole galaxy of threats and monsters out there, it's underwhelming.

That's just my opinion tho

Can I be honest…I like Superman with a touch of grey. I know most don’t and that’s completely understandable, I’m probably biased because of my love for pre-crisis Earth-2, and maybe a bit of Kingdom Come.
