Looking at this now, telling John to chill could have been a running gag.
Yes. For some reason, I'm more fascinated with Hal interacting with Dick, instead of Bruce. I'm not sure why that was never explored.
He could fit under clothes underneath that uniform?
Silver Age, indeed.
This is from the John Stewart thread, but I don't want to derail that thread so I reposted here:
I cannot disagree more about the idea that Hal's ideal world is him being touted as the "greatest." That was something others said about him, and that he's actually refuted at times. Aside from certain depictions that most agree were ooc, Hal isn't ego-driven. He has a compulsion to exert his will, but only for himslef. He believes in self-determinism - to him that's freedom and it's something he wishes for literally everyone - he wants everyone to be able to live their best lives. I think his ideal world is more akin to the GLC days when he was surrounded by comrades and also had a personal life in Coast City surrounded by family.
What do you all think Hal's "ideal world" might be like?
I'm not sure if Hal even would be a GL in his dream world? Feels like his fathers and coast city would be the focus.

Does he even have an idea of his "perfect world". Hal doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who ponders what his life would be like had certain bad things never happened to him.
Apparently the perfect worlds aren't entirely from the people themselves, just stuff Pariah came up with to keep them occupied and distracted.
Johns did a Black Mercy plot early on his run that I think had stuff like Sinestro still being a good guy, his dad alive, and Parallax Hal being an entirely separate entity so don't think that's too far off from Hal's idea of a perfect world.
