He announced that he is starting to write new series for DC and some people in replies started writing about his Darkseid War one-shot.
Don't get me wrong - Tom King is a talented guy (Heroes in Crisis excepted). But he does have a knack for breaking his toys, smearing feces all over them, and leaving them in a flaming dumpster for someone else to repair/clean up. And Hal's already been there/seen that/bought the commemorative floaty-pen as far as "character tear-downs" go.
Yeah, I've really soured on King lately so I get your take on him. It would likely be interesting to see him work on this character but at the same time he can't be trusted to do right by him. And I hate being prejudicial, but his recent track record speaks for itself.
I'd really like to see him write a long-form story in which:
1) The lead hero is tested to the breaking point, but...
2) Comes out the other side as strong as ever, with his core convictions intact and reinforced by his harrowing experience.
Even Batman kind of came out of his run more of a mess than usual.
Has anyone picked up the Justice League Annual? Hal's on the cover, but does anyone know if he does anything in the story?
Of all the "legacy GL" images they could use, they chose one of my least favorite ones(yes it's mostly because of his hair). But it was the cover image of the first issue of the GL book at the time so I guess it makes sense.
