Good way of drawing a hero that looks intimidating without making him look like he turned into a psychotic villain.

Reminds me of some of those loooong panels Sharp drew in S2 of TGL. Or some of the Dave McKean art in Morrison's Arkham Asylum as they also pointed out the deliberate similarities on Substack.
Some time ago Ram V tweeted a random pic of Hal which I guess hinted at him being the GL to show up in Swamp Thing.
I slapped this together for shits and giggles (there were really no good images of Ryan in full uniform flying, go figure)
I will confirm that Hal is in it, and the reason being is a wild one.

Let me see if I can best explain why Hal is in Swamp Thing, will be in spoiler box
spoilers:end of spoilers
So the new Swamp Thing Levi is fighting a villain who grafted an avatar (like Swampy) onto his own body and altered the very laws of the universe and has things that shouldn’t be around waking up and establishing the Parliament of Gears. The Parliament of Trees don’t like this so they have summoned a plant based alien ship armada to attack the earth, this of course got Hal Jordan’s attention. Oh and Batman told Hal how to find Levi.
