The singer angle is a bit to on the nose for her, but I'm a bit of a traditionalist and prefer the floral shop.

As I said,

. . . unless you make Black Canary a more localized hero who protects her neighborhood/city, then a floral shop would probably not make sense unless she's more of an absentee shop keeper/owner.

Even then, giving her a staff to run the shop only makes sense if Black Canary gets her own comic book / regular feature, and having a staff in the story would possibly take away pages from Black Canary's story itself.

I was imagining a hypothetical Black Canary solo feature when I suggested it. In which case, her having a staff doesn't take anything away from her any more than Batman having Alfred, Leslie and Lucius running things. Black Canary as primarily a local hero who occasionally goes on globe trotting missions with the Birds/JLA/JSA is how I prefer her.

I really hope DLL being a legacy returns and I'm glad that the film-verse is keeping her mom being a vigilante.
