Black Canary Appreciation Thread 2022

Marcs hatred for the character really shone through.

-Taking such a rich character and making her into a Batman Begins Rachel knock off,
-Keeping her out of the big secret for 2 seasons,
-having her be on the outs with the team for 3 seasons,
-stripping her of literally everything Canary
-giving her a sister who was Canary first
-killing her off to prove a point...
-saying there was no more story to tell with Laurel
-being forced to introduce a new Canary,
-using the Dinah name after they deemed it as "to old",
-having 3 Canaries within 3 years....
-going into the future where they had an army of Canaries....

It's so hard for me to do Arrow rewatches

I have a strict "No Arrow" policy in my home because of what it did to Dinah.


Luckily my better half likes Dinah a lot so she shares my sentiment.

The film was moving so slowly that I didn't think we were ever gonna get it, sadly.

We're more likely to get some mini-series with the BOP and maybe Green Arrow if they do anything at all.

It could be a theater release but I don't see them taking that chance with Dinah.

Shame if Jurnee goes to waste, I enjoyed BOP despite the criticisms and there were very solid performances throughout, Jurnee being one of them.

I really liked Katie's depiction of Dinah... So I was kinda looking forward to this... I was sad when it was dropped

Dinah was portrayed by either Alex Kingston or Juliana Harkavy, depending on which Dinah is of interest (see what I mean...MESS) I liked Katie Cassidy in SUPERNATURAL so I was surprised when it took so long to find her footing in ARROW, but that was mostly writing/direction.

Big fan of Katie as Black Siren and that costume! She found her swagger!

The pilot was a success with it being the highest rated episode of the season and twitter coverage. The problem was it was going to be to expensive and TheCW wanted HBOMax to foot the bill for S1.

Of course our one chance at Dinah(s) REALLY getting focus and development, it wasnt brought about

I'm just glad they couldn't mangle her any further. Dinah deserves better and I don't want the same hands that kept butchering her for years to get yet another stab at her. Enough was enough.

Kinda stoked since this gives them the opportunity to introduce characters like Wildcat, Bronze Tiger, Lady Shiva and Cheshire
