Dont think she's taking cover from Electric Blue Superman but rather it is the green hooded figure behind her with the glowing yellow eyes, The Spectre?, doing something to her. She seems to be clutching her head in pain as if someone is trying a mental attack? That image looks like three separate scenes put together.

Though since the form in the second image is well green and seemingly causing Clark and John pain maybe the figure has something to do with Kryptonite.

Definitely. Until...well this, she's been about the least prominent of DC's major line-up of heroes. She's due.

I've never seen Supergirl as a mentor figure. Karen, being a respected member of the JSA, has given advice to younger heroes before. It felt like the character I've read.

Granted i dont see much supergirl or peeg content. But supergirl does these thibgs in her own show and stories doesnt she. Makes superjugs redudant

This. Don't make her so precious she's not allowed to do anything. If she's going to be in comics, she's going to have points where she loses fights or gets mind controlled. I just want them to be good stories and for the resolution to be in character.
Compare Superman as a heel in Hush versus Injustice.

I trust Waid and Yang won't butcher Karen. I also suspect that by the end, she'll get to do something heroic.
