I just read a sequence with Peege from JUDGMENT IN INFINITY, a 3 part epic from WW vol 1. In it, Power Girl relays to Canary that she doesn't fly like her Earth 1 Supergirl but instead leaps an eigth of a mile at a time. I guess everyone left the leaping thing

Power Girl is a character who seems ripe for another solo title with a lot of action. Just use her classic personality and abilities. You can update the costume some (don't really care about the boob window one way or the other). I'd pit her against big name villains -- not 3rd wheels like Zartox. Also, needs a decent supporting cast. I guess if I had my preference, she's be on Earth 2 -- and the equivalent of that Earth's Superman.

IF DC had any kind of balls, this is something they would do. Put her on the actual Earth 2, not a rebooted newer version...but the actual Golden Age Earth 2 during modern/present time and make her the Superman level character. They are always talking about legacy and diversity, but I would love to see her treated as the bar setter the way Superman is. Hell, I would be over the moon if they just put her on prime Earth and treated her that way and not as a throw away character. DC does not in fact want that kind of diversity in it's titles though. Too confusing.

The Conner/Palmiotti run is my fav PG stuff, and it's what caught on most I think. While I wouldn't need it to just repeat that necessarily, that team's run did end far too soon.

I think a great Power Girl book today would have some of that DNA, while doing its own thing. I love that comic Invincible for example, Ottley and Kirkman over the years tackled the full range of tones. Comedy, relationships, drama, action, and a dynamic fun art and tone to it. A loose anything can go feel, while still caring about the characters. Something like that would be cool to see. But I'd also take more along the lines of the Conner stuff, since I'd need at least 200 issues to get tired of that.

That run ended because Connor couldn't keep up the pace much past 12 issues, understandable considering how much detail Connor put into her art. Invincible? Yeah, probably not if you get into the bit where his father is revealed as not very nice. But until that? Maybe.

Yeah it went in weird directions, but they worked because the tone was right... even the Anissa story. O-o'

IIRC, back before PG got her Connor solo series, there was a relatively famous, (for cosplayers), lady who specialized in playing PG at cons. Made her look good, I'm guessing as to why she chose that character. Don't recall her name, though.
