This is probably happening because of the movie.
Maybe they could pull a Peter David and have previous runs be just an acid dream or somethin' .
I think the hammer itself just decided to beat up Thor at random just because .
Let me guess... Something will happen with Thor and Asgard will have got a female leader: spoilers:end of spoilers
Hela
Asgard did have all female rulers before.

Thor talking to hammer is so cringy.
"Sir, does this mean that Ann Margret's not coming?"

"One of the maddening but beautiful things about comics is that you have to give characters a sense of change without changing them so much that they violate the essence of who they are." ~ Ann Nocenti, Chris Claremont's X-Men.
It’s incredible how they manage to make things progressively worse, just when you think they have reached the bottom they start to dig even deeper.
Ommadon: “By summoning all the dark powers I will infest the spirit of man So that he uses his science and logic to destroy himself. Greed and avarice shall prevail, and those who do not hear my words shall pay the price. I'll teach man to use his machines, I'll show him what distorted science can give birth to. I'll teach him to fly like a fairy, and I'll give him the ultimate answer to all his science can ask. And the world will be free for my magic again.”
Even if it wasn't Odin...Thor is literally talking to his hammer...I'm just, I just can't...
This is the kind of writing I've come to expect from Marvel's architects for Thor.
It's just sad.
Does anyone remember the anime "Flint the Time Detective"? It was about a caveboy who was frozen in stone and thawed out in the 25th century and became a cop hunting down these pokemon-like creatures through the timestream with the help of his friends and his father, who was also frozen in stone but couldn't be revived fully so the scientists turned him into a weapon for Flint to use, his dad was a sentient stone hammer. This preview reminds me of that.
This premise seems cool, the art is good, but this is just...painful. It's like a soulless, joyless, saturday morning cartoon.
Why does it look like they got stuck fighting in the middle of a Saturday morning cartoon?
I can't even form words to express Thor talking to Odin-Mjolnir -_-
He probably would have more issues with Odin before Aaron came along, Fear Itself for example has Odin being willing to sacrifice Earth to kill that main villain, even then he was doing because he didn't want Thor to die too, but hammer problems, I asked about it here and apparently it may have happened once, but yeah, I doubt Marvel would keep giving Thor hammer problems before, the stuff about "if he be worthy" was there to make sure only Thor gets to lift the hammer, not to make Thor into a lil' bitch, so I doubt that would happen much, if at all, with maybe the exception being Thor before he became Donald Blake.
