I would have been okay with it if it were a psychic battle on the astral plane or something like that, but no, Thor lost a fistfight to a phoenix empowered diamond form Emma Frost after he shattered her and reformed herself after she rained down on him as shards. She kept making all these sexually charged comments towards him, cause Emma gotta Emma, but after the retcon, makes it borderline Oedipal.

Funnily enough, Emma tried to use telepathy but it didn't work lol.

not gonna lie, Emma roasting him was hilarious.

what makes that lost even worse is the fact that Emma didn't even had the full power of the Phoenix.

Checking out AvX here, Thor also lost pretty easily to Cyke too, he blocked Mjolnir with just one hand.

Like yeah, I know Phoenix is a big deal, but, really now? Sheesh lol.

Unfortunately, it was no dream. It was a pretty massive event.

It’s funny that out of the “big 3”, it’s only Thor that lost while Iron Man somehow won against Magneto (although that was because Magnus was distracted). It just shows how modern writers regard Thor.

Yeah the chances are low, Thor isn't that big of a character and editorial makes a lot of dumb decisions even when they aren't being intentionally mean spirited, Aaron also really should have less influence on the character, he's not writing Thor anymore and he still gets to mess with his origins with that Phoenix fanfiction? Sheesh...

Yeah, and that shouldn't happen lol.

Marvel should've gone the Wonder Woman route with him, since she didn't really have powers at first, was just powered up by her armor, but nowadays about the only thing about her that is not her power is the lasso.

Thor meanwhile has super strength and whatnot without the hammer, but most of his powers come from it, the same way Marvel changed their minds about Wolverine's claws (They were just part of his gloves, but became part of him once Marvel realized anyone could be Wolverine if they put on his gloves), I think they should've retconned Thor into being able to have his usual powers without Mjolnir, and just make it stronger, more foccused with it or whatever, that way this "Thor is a mantle" nonsense would be harder to happen.
