I know, right?! After reading several European Editions, UXM #184 would be my first time reading an X-comic written in English & this was the team that was established at the time (only Professor X is missing from that group-shot, who had regained the use of his legs & tried to assume command of the X-Men):

All that trauma and then Selene. She deserved to go. As a Canadian I really like how Wolverine is one of the most popular characters out there. I like him too but, in this era, he was the biggest hypocrite. I recently re-read Excalibur 75, trying to keep pace with the Oh Gosh podcast and it struck me. I don't think I ever saw Rachel happy before then..... perhaps not since. Then the rug is pulled out from her, and she is taken from comics for years.

I still have these cards in a binder in mom's attic. Wonderful memories.

SAME!!! Except mine are in my office and I went through them again recently. So wild. I remember going to the card shop and while most fo the other kids were buying baseball cards my two friends and I were buying boxes of these cards.

Apologies for being so late with responding! I was the same way, these were the only cards I was interested in. The pain of multiple duplicates until finally scoring the ones you were missing!

It's small but we got our first look at Vasco's Rachel with colors. So cute!

UNCANNY X-MEN #187, #188 and #189 were my first X-Men comics, and Rachel was my first favorite character.

I love that era of the X-Men. It was the best.

That's a great issue though and I like that era a lot too.

It was when the X-Men were a major deal, but before they became insanely huge.

The moment where I fell in love with Rachel.

Actually, it was when she was sitting on the stairs with Illyana and Roberto, and that moment forward.

    Simplier times.

I also always loved this moment and how it made Rachel really come alive for me. And loved how she was shown to be strong enough to hide her presence from the Professor's telepathy.
