Phoenix-Mother Askani: Rachel Summers Appreciation 2022

During the ad on the Cerebro podcast for BB:CB, it was said that "Rachel's power helps Betsy be more independent in her own powers, and Betsy's powers help Rachel fulfill her Askani destiny."

I've read this part of the Askani data page more times than I can count and now I'm wondering if we'll see Rachel move back into creating/protecting the sacred mutant peace timeline.

It's great that Rachel will be featured quite a bit in the new, upcoming Phoenix Omnibus Vol. 2. Her first appearance as well as other issues in bold below will be included.

According to Near Mint Condition, PHOENIX OMNIBUS VOLUME 2 will drop September 2023, with covers by Artgerm and Walter Simonson. This volume will collect stories centered on Jean’s return, her clone Madelyne Pryor, and her daughter Rachel Summers. Included in this volume are:

I find it interesting that Claremont is using the whole "telepaths can't read my mind" thing here when Rachel been able to prior and after the timeline when this mini takes place. But glad to see Rachel being used, and also interesting they are having her use Phoenix flames and imagery when she wasn't really allowed to during the time after this because even though she had the eye emblem she was not connected to the PF through power usage.

Glad to hear that Rachel isn't being shunted away anytime soon.

And wow, the majority of this omnibus is Rachel. I think they should have added the Days of Future Present series to it as well as that is when Rachel and Jean first meet.
