Hmm, now I'm kinda guessing it'll be a Devil's Reign tie-in and turn out to be some kind of MacGuffin she wants to use to eliminate any leverage Fisk might still have over her and ensure he can never force her hand again. Especially given that other than its appearance in Inferno, it was mostly Duggan's stuff the black box appeared or was referenced in, and he's the one who established her as having reluctantly worked for Fisk in the past.

Bah. Ideally that's not what it actually is, as I was hoping for something really unexpected or creative that's meant to launch Emma in a brand new story direction rather than just wrap up an old one, but if that is it, at least it'll finally be over and done with.

The Emma/ Carnage cover was very nice too.

Man, if any other variant cover mash up character deserves an ongoing (ala Gwenpool) this is the one I want.

looks like the book is setting up for Emma to be framed for a murder that was committed by her old “partner” Elektra, Kingpin knows she didnt do it but it looks like he wants to send Emma away and making her take the fall for a murder would do so. This explains the 3rd issues cover, he seemingly successfully sets her up and she ends up in prison with the other heroes. Also i guess this rules out that the box would somehow be used against Fisk, since it didnt show up in the issue.

As I recall, the box was first referenced in X-Men #21, but that was a Hellfire Gala tie-in, so could perhaps be counted as Duggan's plots even if Hickman wrote it. Have Duggan referred to it himself somewhere?
