The House of Idea's True Version of Superman is Finally Becoming A Marvel Legend
And it turns out he's older than any of the others.
    Correction- Gladiator is the oldest.
    He was born centuries ago.

    Kallark (Earth-616)
He was born centuries ago, though the time period remains unspecified. He is said to descend from a proud bloodline, though the names of his ancestors remain unknown. He was raised by the Strontian council of elders. They were as much family to him as his blood relatives.

Well, my wish of Neal Adams one day doing a Blue Marvel variant cover is not to be. Rest in peace, Legend.

And now we've lost George Perez as well. Sucks to watch your icons pass, as inevitably we all must.

Well, if nothing else, it's good to see John Stewart getting his own feature animation. What's the over/under of Blue Marvel appearing in a one shot, let alone his own mini series or title at Marvel?

Can't lie, watching the new Black Adam trailer has me deeply envious. Maybe someday Marvel will do something incredible with Blue Marvel. Reimagine the character and launch a new era.

Al, Adam Brashear has been a recurring figure for you through many different books you’ve written—why the affection for the Blue Marvel?

AL EWING: He's a genius scientist and anti-matter powerhouse with a secret science fortress at the bottom of the ocean. What's not to like? He should be a much bigger deal in the Marvel Universe than he is, and the idea that someone like that is spending all this time off-panel just twiddling his thumbs and waiting for the phone to ring feels completely insane, so obviously he must be keeping busy. And if we're not hearing about what he's up to on the front page of every paper, then he must be investigating strange and mysterious things on the fringes of weird science that ordinary people don't hear about. Which makes him pretty ideal for leadership of the Defenders. Also, I want to finally have him punch a cosmic being in the face—that was missing from ULTIMATES (2015), so we're doing it now.

Bringing back the old, killing the young: that's the Marvel way

Honestly, Al Ewing is the best for being the only writer that keeps the character relevant. Nobody else seems to care.

Brashear is very lucky to have Ewing. I can forget about seeing Sentry again now that Marvel are going to try and jam Miracleman into their universe.

My hope is that Ewing uses Defenders Beyond as an opportunity to showcase Adam at his full potential, not reduce this to a mere feat-fest. I think one of the reasons why Adam hasn't caught on with other writers is because their vision generally doesn't extend beyond the Superman pastiche. He's so much more than that. And in many ways, so much more powerful than that. But it's how he exercises that power that I think will make the difference with readers. How and when.

(There is at least one radioactive dragon in the neighborhood, but for all we know that could have been a Lovecraftian creature that crossed over from the Neutral Zone eons ago. The NZ, after all, is accessible from Adam's Kadesh base.)

There also isn't any light at Challenger Deep, save for the light that some bioluminescent organisms make. Well, I guess we can include the light from Adam's antimatter powered base in that. But mostly it's pitch black down there.

Actually, and, unless your talking about the MCU -- Adam already has/had a mini-series.
